The first time I watched the Untamed, I didn't get why Lan Zhan was so dead set on getting Wei Ying back to using his sword until I re-watched the entire series again. He doesn't want to lose Wei Ying the way he lost his mother.
@@loriechrista6076 basically LWJ’s father fell in love with LWJ’s mother, the mother ended up killing her teacher (or the fathers teacher, I don’t remember, I also don’t remember if she killed anyone else besides that). But anyway, she was essentially deemed to be a bad, evil person. LWJ’s father stood by her regardless because he loved her, she lived secluded in a cabin for the rest of her life. LWJ’s father also took himself into seclusion, I don’t think they were together though. The father suffered a great deal of torment, both from the rest of the clan and himself. He was conflicted between his love for her and knowing she had committed heinous acts. Eventually, she passed away - we don’t know of what. However, the relationship between LWJ’s parents and LWJ & WWX are essentially mirrored. LWJ wants to put WWX away in seclusion so that he doesn’t harm anyone or go too far the way his mother did. Just as his father put his mother in seclusion to protect her. Both his father and LWJ are very conflicted and tormented by their feelings for their ‘evil’ counterpart.
It's so sad to see Wei Wuxian like this. He's lost the life in his eyes. Sure, he still makes jokes and all, but it's like a mask now. He doesn't care for what happens to him and the future anymore. He's totally broken.
38:04 idk if Tencent did this on purpose but i love how when WWX is watching LWJ leave, Wen Chao is saying “forgive me” over and over in the background. It’s a nice subtle addition, as if WWX is also pleading forgiveness from LWJ for pushing him away, because he doesn’t want LWJ to get entangled with him and destroy his pristine reputation. It’s clear that one of the reasons WWX rejected LWJ’s help is because he thought that LWJ just wanted to trap him in Gusu and indoctrinate him. But I think another reason was because he felt that he didn’t deserve LWJ’s support, and he knew that he would end up hurting and disappointing LWJ in the end. He can’t tell him about his lost golden core, so he can’t give him a reason why he can’t accept LWJ’s help and go back to sword cultivation. WWX was in a pretty impossible situation, and it’s sad that he had no choice but to push LWJ away in order to protect the love of his life from himself.
I don't think so. Weiying are so much in pain. He recite to Lan zhan how long it's been after the Xuanwu cave n how they were separeted there, If you know Weiying caractere, it's obvious he wants to recall Lan zhan that he left Weiying without a words. The scenes on Xuanwu cave was Weiying confront Lan zhan feeling toward him, and realized that Lan zhan loves him as much as him but Weiying than dissapointed when he woke up to see Lan zhan already left! He is hurting so much! 37:00 scenes are he tried to find out if Lan zhan still has the same feeling. Weiying loves to play with words to provoque the answer. But they both end up hurting each other.
After returning as Yilling Patriarch... Xiao Zhan adapted his acting amazingly. The coldness in his eyes... His power and behaviour is just up to the mark. I never saw him.. Before this series. I just couldn’t understand why people loves him so much. But he actually is worth it. Even more. ❤️
Said this in a different comment but wow I just realized, Wei Wuxian likely had to trade for wicked tricks to get out of the burial mound alive *because* he's so selfless and gave up (presumably) his golden core for Jiang to have his ambitions back. This entire series so far is him making sacrifices for others basically and getting wronged for it, if he never gave his core up Wei Wuxian probably could have made it out of there alive without needing to resort to "wicked tricks" aka tainting his soul or whatever that means exactly. Again this is making guesses based on the context we have now (this is my first watch) so maybe I am wrong but man it's so sad, the actor portrays it wonderfully. As does Lan Zhan's actor in the sadness of understanding the Wei Wuxian he loved is likely forever changed.
err (kinda spoiler) Jiang Cheng doesn't kill him in the novel - it's left unspecified. And in the drama, he stabs at WWX and LWJ hand, but the sword hits the rock. Jiang Cheng does not actually kill him (although it looks like that - I think they built it up like that on purpose) and if you watch carefully, you can see that WWX is the one who throws LWJ hand away by choice.

It hurt when Lan Zhan switched from callinig hin Wei Ying back to Wei Wuxian. This episode makes me too damn sad. And can we appreciate that when WWX asked him what he wanted, the first thing he said was his name? And the hurt in WWX eyes when Lan Zhan left the room...
My heart goes out to Lan Wangji. Here and in the anime. He was so worried about Wei WuXian, only to find him and things ended up like this. I wish he hugged and told Wei WuXian how he felt and I wish Wei WuXian would have at least listened to what he has to say. All Lan Wangji wants is to take him back to Gusu, protect him, be by his side, and have a life with the 1 he loves, but, instead, things turned out like this. Please don't cry Lan Wangji. Wei WuXian has changed in the 3 months he's been gone. He's like a different person. He doesn't understand that you're in love with him.
in the mo dao zu shi novel, they are in a romantic relationship however due to restrictions in china, in the anime and live action it’s more of a bromance. not quite friends, not quite lovers either. everything has to be kept mild in order for it to not catch the government’s attention.
37:50 xiao zhan's acting is incredible. That subtle eyebrow twitch when Lan zhan turned away, the lifting of his chin to regain his composure, the head turn after lan zhan walked down the stairs and his sad/longing stare at his back, and the miniscule movement (i have no words to describe it, it looks like a punch to the heart) that matches up perfectly with Wen Chao's "forgive me"... Xiao zhan once mentioned in an interview he worked really hard deciding how to act during Wei Ying's character growth arc -- I can definitely see his hard work. I just keep on replaying that scene, it breaks my heart.

36:27 will forever break my heart. No ones dying or anything but the fact that the nickname he once called LWJ so teasingly became cold following his courtesy name. The pain in LWJ's eyes knowing he can't help WWX and having to leave w/o realizing that it hurts WWX being cold to him as well. What made this even worse was how he told him "Who do you think you are." It literally made my heart shatter to pieces.
The fact that Lan Zhan is concerned that demonic cultivation will harm Wei Ying's Body and Heart is so Sweet, But, He still gets a "Lan Wangji, Do you really have to stand against me now?" I felt bad for him, even because I was just trying to Help and protect Wei Ying from Possible Suffering :(
"Go back to Gusu with me" in the novel , 13 years later when wei ying revisits this scene in his dreams , he wakes up and says to lan wangji , "take me back to gusu with you right now" and that shattered my heart. if only wei ying would've realized back then that lan wangji wasn't looking down on him for his lowly practices or patronizing him. Rather , when the whole world was happy to use him as a weapon against the wens in the sunshot campaign , just to chuck him away like dirt and demonize him once he showed the slightest sign of disagreement with them , lan wangji was the only one who truly cared about him. While everyone took advantage of wei wuxian's power and conveniently shunned him away when they no longer needed him , lan wangji was the only one who was concerned about wei ying's well being. He knew that demonic cultivation takes a big toll on one's body and mind , at times corroding them from within. He didn't want wei ying to reach such a state. He wanted to protect him. And thus he had warned wei ying several times. But each time , wei ying thanked him and drew a clear line between them. And they parted ways.
yeah and they both suffered for that... Lan Zhan because he felt excluded as if Wei Ying didn't care about him or the things he said, and Wei Ying because he cared too much about Lan Zhan's reputation, didn't want to stain him and then had to hurt him in order for Lan Zhan to let go.
I have said it before and I will say it again, every actor and actress performed their roles exceptional well Nobody disappointed me in bringing out the nature of characters each actor was assigned to. Including the villains and minor actors
When Wei Ying called Lan Zhan "Hanguang Jun"... It hurt me so muchh. He is now so formal and won't mess around anymore even a little 😢😢💔 Lan zhan is amazing, he noticed IT right away
And on this same day the actor talked about how they could not stop laughing and were trying to hold it in the whole time but lan zhan in real life is the total opposite he is hilarious but my point is you can’t get better than this😂!

The way Wei Ying tried to hug back Jiang Cheng but restrained himself at 31:10!! These actors are so talented. They are living in their characters. The way they show their emotions...... They are so good. Hope these talented guys get more recognition. Not only the main characters but also the sub-characters are also very talented. Thumbs up for the untamed staff for selecting these wonderful actors and actresses, and directing them and giving us a wonderful piece of art. Love this series so much that I can't even remember how many times I've watched this. And of course big round of applause for the music directors. Lots of love from Sri Lanka.
I actually saw an interview with JC’s actor where he explained both WY and XZ were goofing off and couldn’t stop laughing at this scene, and it annoyed JC’s actor so much that they made a group chat apologizing and saying that they loved him and to please not be mad at them.

39:19 The scene where WWX tells clan leader Jiang and Madam Yu that he has taken good care of JC and JYL as he was told to do, breaks my heart. Firstly, he is only 16/17 y/o. It is just not fair that he has to carry such a burden. But it also shows the impact their final words had on him when they left. The people who raised him since he was a child told him to look after his siblings instead that all three of them should look after each other and be safe. WWX did as he was told without taking care of himself. He made sure that his siblings were well not caring if the cost of it is his own physical and mental health.
I think one of the reasons WY pushed LZ away was because he always thought of LZ as someone really pure, he was afraid someone who practiced demonic tricks like him would never be accepted by LZ (and I guess he even thought he didn’t deserve to be with LZ).
KENYAN GIRL yeah, it was more obvious in the novel. When WY was so angry by Cheng’s harsh words that he spat out blood (he spat out much more blood in the novel) and accidentally stained the blood on Zhan’s clothes, all he cared about was Zhan’s white clothes getting dirty. That part really touched me.

También JC en su ignorancia solo pensando que da igual el camino si es para derrotar el mal... no se da cuenta de que el final no lo es todo. No supero este drama. Cada capítulo es para hablar largo y tendido... jeje.
I am serioulsy in love with the relationship of wuxian with his sister. And how his sister loves him. Also how wen qing loves wen ning. The siblings love is most beautiful thing in this series.

I suggest you read the novel before you watch the series you will understand it a lot better and the book also has all the sweet moments between the leads that we most likely won't get here!

i'm surprised no one noticed, but this last song, it goes "looking back, many years have passed without notice. hope there's no departure, no sorrow. but no one would call me XIAN anymore." yanli is the only one to call him xian. and she is the last bit of innocence that wei owns. i'm not reading spoilers, but i can pretty much catch what will happen.

it's actually so heartbreaking that Wei Wuxian tried to act emotionless when Lan Chan was warning him and then, when he asked Lan Chan to leave the camera moved back to him but now we can see his face full of emotions, quilt and sadness as he was looking at Lan Chan's back and in the background we can hear "forgive me, forgive me" it kinda ripped me apart

38:04 idk if Tencent did this on purpose but i love how when WWX is watching LWJ leave, Wen Chao is saying “forgive me” over and over in the background. It’s a nice subtle addition, as if WWX is also pleading forgiveness from LWJ for pushing him away, because he doesn’t want LWJ to get entangled with him and destroy his pristine reputation. It’s clear that one of the reasons WWX rejected LWJ’s help is because he thought that LWJ just wanted to trap him in Gusu and indoctrinate him. But I think another reason was because he felt that he didn’t deserve LWJ’s support, and he knew that he would end up hurting and disappointing LWJ in the end. He can’t tell him about his lost golden core, so he can’t give him a reason why he can’t accept LWJ’s help and go back to sword cultivation. WWX was in a pretty impossible situation, and it’s sad that he had no choice but to push LWJ away in order to protect the love of his life from himself.

He recite to Lan zhan how long it's been after the Xuanwu cave n how they were separeted there, If you know Weiying caractere, it's obvious he wants to recall Lan zhan that he left Weiying without a words. The scenes on Xuanwu cave was Weiying confront Lan zhan feeling toward him, and realized that Lan zhan loves him as much as him but Weiying than dissapointed when he woke up to see Lan zhan already left! He is hurting so much! 37:00 scenes are he tried to find out if Lan zhan still has the same feeling. Weiying loves to play with words to provoque the answer. But they both end up hurting each other.

Said this in a different comment but wow I just realized, Wei Wuxian likely had to trade for wicked tricks to get out of the burial mound alive *because* he's so selfless and gave up (presumably) his golden core for Jiang to have his ambitions back. This entire series so far is him making sacrifices for others basically and getting wronged for it, if he never gave his core up Wei Wuxian probably could have made it out of there alive without needing to resort to "wicked tricks" aka tainting his soul or whatever that means exactly. Again this is making guesses based on the context we have now (this is my first watch) so maybe I am wrong but man it's so sad, the actor portrays it wonderfully. As does Lan Zhan's actor in the sadness of understanding the Wei Wuxian he loved is likely forever changed.

Jiang Cheng doesn't kill him in the novel - it's left unspecified. And in the drama, he stabs at WWX and LWJ hand, but the sword hits the rock. Jiang Cheng does not actually kill him (although it looks like that - I think they built it up like that on purpose) and if you watch carefully, you can see that WWX is the one who throws LWJ hand away by choice.

My heart goes out to Lan Wangji. Here and in the anime. He was so worried about Wei WuXian, only to find him and things ended up like this. I wish he hugged and told Wei WuXian how he felt and I wish Wei WuXian would have at least listened to what he has to say. All Lan Wangji wants is to take him back to Gusu, protect him, be by his side, and have a life with the 1 he loves, but, instead, things turned out like this.

That subtle eyebrow twitch when Lan zhan turned away, the lifting of his chin to regain his composure, the head turn after lan zhan walked down the stairs and his sad/longing stare at his back, and the miniscule movement (i have no words to describe it, it looks like a punch to the heart) that matches up perfectly with Wen Chao's "forgive me"... Xiao zhan once mentioned in an interview he worked really hard deciding how to act during Wei Ying's character growth arc -- I can definitely see his hard work. I just keep on replaying that scene, it breaks my heart.

While everyone took advantage of wei wuxian's power and conveniently shunned him away when they no longer needed him , lan wangji was the only one who was concerned about wei ying's well being. He knew that demonic cultivation takes a big toll on one's body and mind , at times corroding them from within. He didn't want wei ying to reach such a state. He wanted to protect him. And thus he had warned wei ying several times. But each time , wei ying thanked him and drew a clear line between them. And they parted ways.

39:19 The scene where WWX tells clan leader Jiang and Madam Yu that he has taken good care of JC and JYL as he was told to do, breaks my heart. Firstly, he is only 16/17 y/o. It is just not fair that he has to carry such a burden. But it also shows the impact their final words had on him when they left. The people who raised him since he was a child told him to look after his siblings instead that all three of them should look after each other and be safe. WWX did as he was told without taking care of himself. He made sure that his siblings were well not caring if the cost of it is his own physical and mental health.

También JC en su ignorancia solo pensando que da igual el camino si es para derrotar el mal... no se da cuenta de que el final no lo es todo. No supero este drama. Cada capítulo es para hablar largo y tendido... jeje.

it's actually so heartbreaking that Wei Wuxian tried to act emotionless when Lan Chan was warning him and then, when he asked Lan Chan to leave the camera moved back to him but now we can see his face full of emotions, quilt and sadness as he was looking at Lan Chan's back and in the background we can hear "forgive me, forgive me" it kinda ripped me apart
肖战演的真好 一开始的活泼可爱小捣蛋 后来的惊弓之鸟 这集一开始的邪恶小眼神 被逼问时的深沉沧桑有故事的感觉 都演的好好
他演的估计很爽，所有情绪都能爆裂发泄得淋漓尽致，蓝湛就可怜了，除了隐忍还是隐忍，欲语还休，欲说不能……太难了
其实并不全然这样前期的少年后面的苍桑还有中间情绪外放的大戏更难演。而且演戏是混着拍的有可能早上是少年魏无羡晚上就是夷陵老祖魏无羡着情绪的更改其实是很难把握的。不过蓝湛也很棒隐忍，情绪，眼神都很棒十六年后的眼神情绪哪种失而复得的心情演的很好不愧是zqsg啊。陈情令这部剧真的该大爆，选角角色的把握都很好，一喜欢喜欢上了整部剧。

Xiao did such a good job portraying the change WWX went through it’s just fascinating.
