The advantage of the 500 if you keep weight foreward and when your comfortable on the 500 you can easily add more speed. On the 125 your using all the speed and power and the fact it’s more agile. You did well to make that gain on the 500. Daft as is sounds you will become a better 125 rider by riding the 500.
Well done Max. I honestly thought you were going to go faster on the 125 on that track but you did it. Can’t wait to see you mixing it up on the big boy.
Great riding Max! We can't all be Bradshaw, but we can be our best if we are lucky. So, bring it all back unscaved (you included) after the race and show us what we want to know in the end. Megladon or YZilla, piloted by Max.
One thing I think will help you on the 500 is to use the clutch to modulate the power on corner exit. That has been my experience anyway. Similar to the 125, but used for different reasons.
That’s pretty good going from a 125 which you were comfortable on to a 500 which took some time learning but once you learn to use that low end power you have an advantage. 🤘🏼
Ride it like a 125 except only use 3rd gear for the holeshot then 3rd in the corners that are tight 4th and 5th on the straits , you never will use 1st or 2nd gear . If the track is wet or slick upshift everything 1 gear it will keep the spin to a controllable smooth , but add a hydraulic clutch lever to it , and possibly even a rekluse clutch also so it doesn't stall on you , back here in the usa they would run the 125 and the 500 in same moto 500 allways wins that out of corner speed is where you make your passes 4th gear with the clutch pinned ride the rear brake if its gets to much wheel spin , but ride it wide open like a 125 in the corners that sound scares anyone around you to just let you pass every corner...
Would love to see the zilla in full fledge racing against 450s and tbh would be dope to see it in arena cross SX format and even let a hard enduro take a few spins on her around the track and see what they could do with her since their so use to down low torque world. She sounds great tho way different ting then a cr or a yz for that
As mentioned that track looks more the size of my back garden not a GP track. Back in the day I used to train with the Yamaha works team sometimes ( I was an enduro rider) and the factory 490's ran 3 speed boxes and only used 2 of the gears, second to drop into the corner, upshift and pull out on the clutch. With the enduro gearbox (we used the factory MX cylinders and exhausts) third gear was changed every race along with the clutch, it was a struggle to run a 2 day enduro on one set of plates. Drive it out on the clutch then control the front- end lift with wheelspin, the idea you can drop the front end into a corner by giving more gas seems to be lost these days.
Good to see what the difference between the two bikes on a more mid-level rider, as others have said we can’t all be Bradshaw or Thorpe so to see what us normal guys can do between the twos a cool perspective. Would be cool to see what a long-time 500 riders difference would be between the two
Back around '96 or so a buddy bought an '86 CR 125 with a full race Pro Circuit engine. It was fairly clapped out and I didn't think much of it........until we hit the desert. I was on a CR 250. That little 125 spanked me hard. Quite surprising. My favorite bike was my KX 500.
you looked to be going alright max i think the 125's are to hardest to ride in a way they need to be in the band always but the big stuffs got way more grunt i always rode the 250s kind of the best of both worlds.good vid man
My opinion, you don't need to ring the neck (clearly on a big bore 2 stroke) smooth is the go, raced them but when you get too cocky you'll come unstuck. Ride them like you're just "heading to get some milk from the shop" is what I used.
Smooth is the key to speed. . Always has been and always will be Max. Its what you learn when you can't just "whack it open" .... smooth is key when you are gunna get spat off if you dont. Ace content btw.
If the track is fast use the yzilla as you will need power and speed... if the track is more technic, use the minizilla as you will need handling and less weight
I’d like to see enduro riders try out a 500. You guys have some top riders out there in the UK and they have RUclips channels. You should reach out and set something up.
I’m 5’7” and 165lbs and I enjoy the power of the 250s but I get whipped a bit. I find that I too have most fun on a 125. Great vid. Thnx for the content and reply.
They say it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow, which is probably true, but if you’ve got the skills and the balls to ride a 500 fast, well, that’s a whole ‘nother animal…
Yup but you gotta remember a 125 in such a high state of tune is gonna grenade sooner than later ,they say the O shows mechanic squeezed near 40 Horses from that 125 motor 🤟🤠
interestingly enough, i have both a KTM 250 4 stroke and a KTM 300 2 stroke. after riding the 300 which has considerably more hp over the 250 i noticed i could ride the 250 a lot harder. but if i were to pick one the 500 is a bucket list thing to ride/race, but you need to be on the top of your game to man handle a big bore bike whilst a 125 is more of a full send but sometimes doesn't have the power to gain enough speed for a jump or pass someone due to low torque.
The advantage of the 500 if you keep weight foreward and when your comfortable on the 500 you can easily add more speed.

It's not a 500 it's a 5 0 0
he didn't ride that 125 on the limit at all though... neither the 500.
Well done Max. I honestly thought you were going to go faster on the 125 on that track but you did it. Can’t wait to see you mixing it up on the big boy.
Thanks, so did I, but the Yzilla is so nice to ride.
Great riding Max! We can't all be Bradshaw, but we can be our best if we are lucky. So, bring it all back unscaved (you included) after the race and show us what we want to know in the end. Megladon or YZilla, piloted by Max.
Awesome Max now go out there and kick some but mate!
I'll try :) Thanks for watching Rusty
One thing I think will help you on the 500 is to use the clutch to modulate the power on corner exit. That has been my experience anyway. Similar to the 125, but used for different reasons.
Fantastic video Max, great riding on both bikes, keep practising mate and thrash those 4strokes.
That’s pretty good going from a 125 which you were comfortable on to a 500 which took some time learning but once you learn to use that low end power you have an advantage. 🤘🏼
Good luck on the big gun, both me and the boy were stoked to meet you at masterkids.
Can't wait for the next vid!
Thanks, great to meet you too:)
Nice video mate!!
I love your channel.
Great views from the new cameras.
Long live 2 Strokes!! Braapp!!
Thanks :)
You can do it! Hell yeah
Dude you were hauling that yzilla well impressed max
Thanks James, hauling might be too much of a compliment, but I'll take it :) Thanks for watching buddy.
Amazing work loving the sweet crispy sound of the two strokes and I would love to see the 500 against some competition
Coming soon! Thanks for watching
A wise man you got that power out by the end of the day and she sounded peeeerfect 😎💪🏻🇬🇧
Gd luck on the YZILLA. Can't wait to see this.
Never had a 500 but had the Quadzilla. It was a beast.
👍
Thanks Eric, I'd love to try a quadzilla too.
Good lad , can't wait to see you race that beast , all the best mate ................
Looking forward to watching you race that beast max. 👍
Thanks, I might need it:)

My dad always said there is no substitute for horsepower.
Cubic capacity always wins
No replacement for displacement
Fair play max 🇬🇧
Weight is a better substitute

Top job there matey looking forward to see some racing on the beast 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thanks Tess

You stated what did I get myself into, state-of-the-art two-stroke. Now we expect you to go out and rip it up all season long. And rack up the wins.👍😎

Awesome vid and respect to the Zilla. Let's the good times roll. Hold on tight Max and have a blast 👍.
Will do, Thanks Kevin

Oh ya race that bad boy!
Good work mate, big step from 125 to 500
What a beast!! Nice riding!
Thanks!
Yes! Race them all!

Awesome Max. BIG 👍

You looked good on the 500 I think you have got this just keep riding it and the more comfortable you will feel. Sounds crisp!!
Thanks! Will do!
Great video, good luck on the 500 Max 👍🚀
Thanks Adie, hope you're well mate.
@@999lazer all good here mate, looking forward to some short sprints before more top speed events 👍🛵🚀
Where you gonna be racing max? enjoyed the 2 smoke action as always 👍
I'll let you know soon. I'm trying to fit a race in my schedule over the next Month or so :)
Fancy doing eastern centre club races on yzilla in 2024 👊🏻🏁
If the track is fast use the yzilla as you will need power and speed... if the track is more technic, use the minizilla as you will need handling and less weight
4 strokes wish they had a bike as powerful as this
hell yeaaaaaa about time we seen u rip hard i feel like ur better then few ppl u had ride not going to say names tho🤣
You're doing a great job.
Max ya was really getting to grips with her, absolutely stunning machine ❤️🇬🇧 good luck
Jonny O showed that cc’s isn’t always the answer. A factory 125 can beat a works 500. It’s the rider. Always has been.
Good job man!
Respect the power of the big bore but also dont be affraid of it. You ride affraid you will hurt yourself or your not going to be competitive or both
Awesome, Great work 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Nicely done.
Thanks!
That track is like concrete! Put street tires on to increase lap times
It very depends on what kind of track you ride , on a difficult rutted sand track you have to be a real athlete to handle a 500 ,
125 looks 👌🏻. Where did you get the seat cover from ?
LR designs made them, thanks for watching
Seat time Max soon enough you’ll be looking for more power ✌️
They go hey It will give you that feel for sure ))

yes
Nice great work after a couple of days riding the big bore s you will be ok :) all ways good to have the power to lift the front its a lot more fun :)
Just ride it like you stole it ring it's neck and see what happens 😂😂😂
as u get better on the 500 the 125 will feel like a toy, 👍👍
Amazing engineering masterpieces 🤠💯🤟🙏❤🇬🇧🇺🇲👍💪
Thank you. Credit really goes to BRC Racing and Roland at Hardcore Racing for putting it together
I’m curious, how tall and how much do you weigh?
5ft 9"... and too much...lol
I’m 5’7” and 165lbs and I enjoy the power of the 250s but I get whipped a bit. I find that I too have most fun on a 125. Great vid. Thnx for the content and reply.
It all depend on the track, some are more suited to 125cc some for a 500cc.
They say it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow, which is probably true, but if you’ve got the skills and the balls to ride a 500 fast, well, that’s a whole ‘nother animal…
Hello Max! Congratulations for your bikes and times! How much HP is your 125 and 500 ( yzilla and mini yzilla...) in this video????
125 is 38 and the YZ500 is 58 (RWHP)
@@999lazer boy, those are serious numbers!!!
max you ride that bike real good. Now go and race it
Thorpe vs O'Mara ... do you Remember ?
haha, yep that's a good point. Thanks for watching.
Yup but you gotta remember a 125 in such a high state of tune is gonna grenade sooner than later ,they say the O shows mechanic squeezed near 40 Horses from that 125 motor 🤟🤠
Nothing like roost from a 500.
You look awesome
No problem,
sell him to me, and you write a small bike. 🥰
Problem solve!!!!!!
Best of rideing a slow bike fast then a fast bike slow
Top 🇧🇷
dint fir get deconpresion buton
125 power,,,😍😍😍😍
Motocross des nations 1986 125 came 3rd its all about the rider
👍
you need to get old yz 500 conpair them even big borp
Race kong
Absolutely, we've got some cool videos coming up with Kong (and Yzilla), but a race is deffo on the cards. Thanks for watching.
Love the channel but please take the bikes to a decent track this track looks like that back of someone's allotment
Acti-dentally? Those 500’s are causing brain damage mate 😂
That track is way to small
guu on !!! i mean, what could happen ???? hehehehe
haha , thanks for watching Pete
