RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems GmbH, Business Division Manager Terrestrial Laser Scanning
In order to survive on the market in the "BIM Age", fast and precise measuring devices are required. RIEGL’s latest terrestrial laser scanner was developed exactly for this application and is characterized by the following features: precise, fast and lightweight.
With it, the user now has a sensor at his disposal to record laser scans with 6 mm point resolution at a distance of 10 meters every minute. During the recording of approx. 30 million measuring points per scan position, high-resolution photos of the scene are stored in parallel. In one working day, up to 500 (!) scan positions can be recorded. Automatic "on-board registration" of the scan positions is executed in the scanner simultaneously. Using the “Project Map” app, the data are displayed in real time on a mobile device.
But it is not only in the field that the RIEGL VZ-600i impresses with its speed. With the "One Touch Processing Wizard", the subsequent automated data processing is simplified and massively accelerated. From acquisition to homogenization of the data it usually takes less than 24 hours!
The scanner’s key features accelerate indoor and outdoor applications such as AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), BIM (Building Information Modeling), archaeology and cultural heritage documentation, forestry, and accident recording.
Based on different application projects, the features of the RIEGL VZ-600i and the corresponding workflow of data acquisition and processing will be demonstrated.
