What a beautiful vid! Long way from "La Guardia"! Happy and Safe Flying! P.D: The 737-400 at 8:49, is from "Aerolíneas Estelar" from Venezuela (home country) YV657T 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thank you for this great trip report! We flew to Cusco in 2022 and it was a bit turbulent over the Andes. But we had a great time there and took the train from Cusco to Aquas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu. It was fantastic. Many greetings from Germany.

Both--- Comprehensive and Comprehensible ! Several uncommon occurrences, right from the landing Airport being bang in the middle of the City of Cusco, Peru, the high altitude, thin air, and a whole lot of different culture ! Please get to normalcy as to the O2 levels, also we await your narration on the return flight(s). It was intriguing: why such a long Airport, but you so aptly pointed out that the reduced density of air. It was reminiscent of the Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport) is 3,256 meters (10,682 feet) above mean sea level (MSL) in India. Yes, it had taken a couple of days for all us who live more 'down to earth' 😆😆to acclimatize. Thanks and BEST!

The best video i've seen so far flying into cusco. I'm glad that you confirmed that the left side of the plane had the best view. Which company did you use for airport transportation?

Thanks so much. In advance of arriving, I had the hotel coordinate the transportation for me.

Best thing I did before leaving for Peru was to get altitude meds! I spent a year commuting between Denver & somewhere at sea level on a weekly basis. I was usually a bit woozy my first day back in Denver (~6000' elevation difference). But after taking altitude meds, I was only mildly tired upon touchdown in Cuzco (11,000 feet higher than my home) and by day 2 was basically operating as usual.
BTW, Cuzco has mountains on both sides of the runway! I had a great view from my right side window seat!

I probably should have taken those meds! You'll learn more about what happened to me in my next video.

Nice job! Really felt like I was flying along side you. You've got a knack for this aviation game, or so it seems. I remember when people would clap on landing. Thanks Peter!

I await with great impatience, your inevitable flight to Paro Intl by Bhutan Air or Druk. Either way, I’ll see if they can’t get a 744 Pima for this special occasion

19:39 I’m surprised an airport at that altitude is planned to have nonstop flights to as far away as Istanbul. I would think there would be serious performance issues.

Chinchero being higher then Cuzco current airport, international flights to New York or Miami, or Istanbul won’t be able. At 12.000 feet above MSL your penalties due to such high altitude on the aircraft’s performance won’t make it possible. Maybe La Paz or Bogota on a A319 will be possible. A wide body aircraft won’t. Lima will be the connection airport as it is today.
