- On the Occupation of Navaratri festival, I am happy to share with you my new song Devi Ashwadhati written by Mahakavi Kalidasa.
Ashwa means Horse, Dhati means style, this song is a unique word play by the great Kalidasa in the pattern of how horse walks. I have picked the first 9 paragraphs of this amazing word play from Kalidasa as a tribute to devi during Navaratri.
Devi/Shakti also represents the different forms of energy systems in one's body. The graphics done is an effort to represent the energy movements in one's body to achieve the ultimate.
This effort wouldn't have been possible without the help of Venkatesh sir, Uday Shreyas sir and Niloy Ahsan sir. I would like to thank them whole heartedly for their presence.
I would like to thank Sai Meghana Ram, who assisted me with the Art work which are used in the video.

चेटी भवन्निखिल खेटी कदम्बवन वाटीषु नाकि पटली
कोटीर चारुतर कोटी मणीकिरण कोटी करम्बित पदा ।
पाटीरगन्धि कुचशाटी कवित्व परिपाटीमगाधिप सुता
घोटीखुरादधिक धाटीमुदार मुख वीटीरसेन तनुताम् ॥ 1 ॥ शा. ॥
In fragrant breezy plantation filled with pale red flowers served by female companions,
elegant beauty, with long elongated hair, with shining peals as ornaments on her feet,
Smelling like sandal wood, covered with beautiful sari similar to magadha children
Slender like a betel leaf plant, with happy face, charging ahead with many horses.
द्वैपायन प्रभृति शापायुध त्रिदिव सोपान धूलि चरणा
पापापह स्वमनु जापानुलीन जन तापापनोद निपुणा ।
नीपालया सुरभि धूपालका दुरितकूपादुदन्चयतुमाम्
रूपाधिका शिखरि भूपाल वंशमणि दीपायिता भगवती ॥ 2 ॥ शा. ॥
Since dvaipAyana (vyasa) brought heavens to dust of his feet with his curse,
there has been a store of sin in people's heart, with small prayer, you are an expert in removing it
oh sweet smelling devi, clear my darkenss and make it as clear as milk
oh un matched beauty, who is like king's precious jewel, i offer my arati, oh bhagavati.
यालीभि रात्मतनुतालीनकृत्प्रियक पालीषु खेलति भवा
व्याली नकुल्यसित चूली भरा चरण धूली लसन्मणिगणा ।
याली भृति श्रवसि ताली दलं वहति यालीक शोभि तिलका
साली करोतु मम काली मनः स्वपद नालीक सेवन विधौ ॥ 3 ॥ शा. ॥
The one who plays in body, aatma and every part of creation
Dark like snake and mangoose with ornaments filled feet of pearls, with some dust of turmeric
whose fame is heard everywhere, who is seated on petals and has a beautiful tilak on forehead
Devi make my dark heart your abode, where i clean your feet and offer lotus flower on it.
बालामृतांशु निभ फालामना गरुण चेला नितम्ब फलके
कोलाहल क्षपित कालामराकुशल कीलाल शोषण रविः ।
स्थूलाकुचे जलद नीलाकचे कलित वीला कदम्ब विपिने
शूलायुध प्रणति शीला दधातु हृदि शैलाधि राज तनया ॥ 4 ॥ शा. ॥
Young moon like composition, who is compassion at heart and protector of good, seated on the throne
Destroyer of confusion and provider of eternal happiness like darkness removed by the sun
In thick dirty water having blue cover formed by kadamba forest,
holding trishoola as aayuda, and ready to destroy, oh daughter of king himalaya i bow down to you.
कम्बावतीव सविडम्बा गलेन नव तुम्बाभ वीण सविधा
बिम्बाधरा विनत शम्बायुधादि निकुरुम्बा कदम्ब विपिने ।
अम्बा कुरङ्ग मदजम्बाल रोचि रिह लम्बालका दिशतु मे
शं बाहुलेय शशि बिम्बाभि राम मुख सम्बाधिता स्तन भरा ॥ 5 ॥ शा. ॥
Like shell, with you in proximity, my throat is opening with a new experience like veena
wearer of shadow, oh humble one, who has shambayuda and other weapons and in kadamba forest
oh mother, who has antelope like horns and dark light behind having pendulous curls in the womb
who displays bull like shadow from moon light, who has black face and stars on her chest.
दासायमान सुमहासा कदम्बवन वासा कुसुम्भ सुमनो
वासा विपञ्चि कृत रासा विधूत मधु मासारविन्द मधुरा ।
कासार सून तति भासाभिराम तनु रासार शीत करुणा
नासा मणि प्रवर भासा शिवा तिमिर मासाये दुपरतिम् ॥ 6 ॥ शा. ॥
oh mother, who enchants my mind, who is very noble in nature, staying in kadamba forest on a saffron flower,
sweet as honey collected by trembling bee which is collected from lotus flower
one with beautiful body who is the source of all rasas and who is compassion
who has perl on her nose who is dark in color, i offer you dhoopa and arathi
न्यङ्काकरे वपुषि कङ्काल रक्त पुषि कङ्कादि पक्षि विषये
त्वं कामना मयसि किं कारणं हृदय पङ्कारि मे हि गिरिजाम् ।
शङ्काशिला निशित टङ्कायमान पद सङ्काशमान सुमनो
झङ्कारि भृङ्गतति मङ्कानुपेत शशि सङ्काश वक्त्र कमलाम् ॥ 7 ॥ शा. ॥
Carriage which is moving like a humming beetle has red beautiful bird pictures,
made of a strong stone, surrounded by flowers,
my wish is you enter my heart though the stairs oh girija (mountain born)
जम्भारि कुम्भि पृथु कुम्भापहासि कुच सम्भाव्य हार लतिका
रम्भा करीन्द्र कर दम्भापहोरुगति डिम्भानुरञ्जित पदा ।
शम्भा उदार परिरम्भाङ्कुरत् पुलक दम्भानुराग पिशुना
शं भासुराभरण गुम्भा सदा दिशतु शुम्भासुर प्रहरणा ॥ 8 ॥ शा. ॥
The one who is carrying fire in large pot in one hand, with a smile on her face, having a garland of perls on her chest
the one who killed shumbasura with a attach from thunderbolt like weapon, who was attacking devas and others using his weapons
like cutting a banana plant.
दाक्षायणी दनुज शिक्षा विधौ विकृत दीक्षा मनोहर गुणा
भिक्षाशिनो नटन वीक्षा विनोद मुखि दक्षाध्वर प्रहरणा ।
वीक्षां विधेहि मयि दक्षा स्वकीय जन पक्षा विपक्ष विमुखी
यक्षेश सेवित निराक्षेप शक्ति जय लक्षावधान कलना ॥ 9 ॥ शा. ॥
Oh Daughter of Daksha, who on inciting by daksha cut herself to million parts,
who is served by king of yakshas himself, decrease my unconsciousness and clean my thoughts with education,
and initiate me with entrancing quality oh smiling face one.
