    at 15 years old, i went out partying with a friend, i was drugged, raped by over 6 men, woke up feeling awful, remembering everything. i clammed up, didn't tell a soul, 12 weeks later i found out i was pregnant.... i was terrified, took std tests all were negative. i was so scared. i hated the men who assaulted me, but i wanted to keep the baby. i was in care, in a children's home, and as i was a minor, the decision was made for me. i was forced into an abortion. after the procedure, i cried and cried. i was cramping, depressed etc. a few months later, i started getting a burning sensation, so went o the clinic. i found out that the hospital had performed my abortion with dirty equipment, meaning, they used it on someone, then on me without sterilizing it. i was devastated. my infection was fast acting, and i was told at 15 that i would struggle conceiving in the future.i got into prostitution for 6 years, drugs, anything to numb the pain of having my child taken from me. i always felt that it wasn't the baby's fault, they didn't ask to be conceived in such a vile and evil way u know? im now 27 years old, i have been clean for almost 7 years, im a drug worker, and the best part is that i am finally a mother of 2 beautiful girls, 4 and 1, i thank god for them ever single day. im finally happy. my story is for those girls out there, and for u trisha, i want to let u know that nothing is impossible in gods eyes. my ovaries are also covered in cysts honey. this is also for you nicole wright. just please, don't give up on that option to have kids. find someone amazing, someone u love, and trust, have good sex. what ever will be will definitely be. god bless you all. x

      To choose to have a child or to not have a child has absolutely nothing to do with selfishness but I will say (and I am 44 this Aug) that friends and people I know who have children do tend to be less about themselves as they have learned by raising children that in life you are not the only one because having children you have to put them first, make sacrifices or you should and by doing that it teaches you about putting someone else before yourself (not saying that all I know who have not had kids vs parents are that way) there are people without children that had to care for parents, siblings etc that also learn that way. There are also some who don't want children because their calling is to help others through ministries and such and if they had a child they wouldn't be able to do that because needing to be with helping others. It's important to know because you have children doesn't make you a good parent. I have seen women have kids and the grandparents have to end up raising them, just disgusting. In every decision I make, I make it considering my children and how it will impact them...

      Thank you for the video! People just don't talk about important things like this as much as they should. I found out I had HPV a couple years ago and I had gotten it from a guy I was dating for a while. He claimed to not know he had it until I found out I got it from him. He also cheated on me and my first question was always if he told the girl he cheated with that he had an STD. I have so much respect for you for telling your story and also for telling your partners about your sexual history. I take the blame for getting an STD because I couldve prevented it but I don't understand how someone can not tell their partner if they know. When me and the guy finally broke up I asked him if he realized that he would have to tell every girl after me about his STD and he acted like it was cool if he didn't tell them and that it was no big deal. I've told everyone and surprisingly haven't run into any problems. I would rather tell someone up front and be rejected than pass it on to someone I love or that loves me and lose them when they discover I lied. Thanks again for telling your story, I feel like i have more respect for you and look at you differently now. In a good way of course :)

    I had polycystic ovarian disease. Same exact symptoms. Irregular periods, cysts on my ovaries, lots and lots of scarring. Was told to have a hysterectomy, bc it could turn into cancer. I refused to do so. The doctor told me I would never be able to have children bc of all the damage and scar tissue from the cysts. I prayed, my family prayed and my church prayed. 2 months after I got married, I got pregnant, and had a healthy baby boy. 3 years later, I got pregnant again, with healthy baby boy number 2. The oldest is 4 and the youngest is 1. I understand the "coming to terms" part, but don't give up hope. Keep praying. 😉 Everyone deserves happiness.
    P.S. Your past does not define you. These negative, hateful people speak with a quick tongue, but a slow mind. You have a good heart.

      I have PCOS as well. I'm so encouraged by your story, God is really great! I'm 19 years old and I haven't had a period in 2 years... I'm on birth control & that hasn't done anything for me!! What kinda meds & stuff did you go on to treat it? I have heard a lot of people saying acupuncture really helps regulate the cycle so I'm considering trying that...

    • @autumnsimon7067
      @autumnsimon7067 8 лет назад +9

      +Megan P Honestly, the only thing I ever took were birth control pills. Sadly, I don't think there are many treatments for it. I can't say anything other than my opinion about acupuncture, bc I've never tried it, but I would say that it might make you feel better, but doubt it would get rid of the problem itself. Prayer and faith was the best medicine for me. So keep believing that God will provide your miracle. Keep that faith alive. I'm so touched and glad that my story encourages you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, hun. God Bless! ❤😊

      +Goldie Love I have pcos and they have me on metphormin and I'll be starting a new medication with the metphormin that is actually used to treat emphysema but works with the metformin to help with pcos. I hate the metphormin, it makes my hair fall out, tears up bowels, and makes my nails super thin. it is awful but I'm having a cycle now. I can't use any form of birth control because they cause me to clot up and I also have a blood clotting disorder so I have to be super careful. it's good to know I'm not the only one out there with pcos. I never understood the remark 'you're selfish for not having kids,' like it's a waste not to use your eggs before they inevitably expire. You know what is really selfish? Having kids when you don't want them. Having kids when you have no intention of being a half decent parent. Having kids when you are in debt and can't afford to give them a reasonable living. Or having kids in the hopes of receiving more government funds. Terrible. That's selfish. Trish, you do you!

      @DropsOfIndigo 8 лет назад +3

      +Latie G I agree 100% I do not think I want kids. Ever. I believe in my heart of hearts, it may not be the right choice for me. I
      DO want to marry and fall in love but I have other journeys I would like to embark on with my future husband. Plus, the idea of pregnancy just does not appeal to me, which is just my personal opinion for myself. Now, I DO NOT hate children at all. Far from it. I have a god-daughter that I absolutely ADORE and I'm in training to be a teaching assistant, I just don't think I could do the mum thing all day, every day 24/7. HOWEVER, I also have nothing, absolutely NOTHING against mothers. If that is a path a woman chooses to go down, then kudos to her! It's awesome that there are people out there who actively seek motherhood and WANT to raise a family. At the same time, I think the opinion need to extend both ways. I too have been called selfish and stupid for not wanting kids and have been told things like, "Oh, you'll change your mind" or "Pfft. You're young, Just wait until you get married." (Um...Shut up? You're not helping. Want to help? Go get me a damn husband. )
      Anyway, I said all that, because my friend desperately, and I mean desperately wants another child. And I get it...But I don't. I don't because she and her husband barely have the means to take care of the ONE child they have sometimes. Neither work particularly decent jobs, and she spends money on stupid, hobby stuff when she could be putting it away into savings for her son or getting things for the house. Don't get me wrong. She is a lovely, LOVELY person with a very gentle heart....She just can't brain sometimes. I get SO frustrated when she's all, 'Why would I do that? That's what I get food stamps for!" Really? No, really? And you want to bring another child into this mess? It's great she wants to be a mother and that her husband is a good father...But as you said, people who are in debt and would have trouble giving a child a reasonable living should re-think it. Or, if they already have a kid, re-prioritise and think about getting out of debt and balancing it with supporting your child. Making sure she/he has food, clothes and a roof over his/her head first and foremost before engaging in your own selfish pursuits or having more babies. Because kids are for LIFE. And they cost money, something some folks do not seem to grasp.

      Yes!! I 100% agree. I hate seeing people who think they have to, or do it because it's expected of them. I know someone unrelated to Trish here on RUclips that had a baby earlier this year and was miserable during her pregnancy and basically probably hates her kid. It's sick and makes me ill because I have PCOS and am having a hard time conceiving. I just hate that some people pop out more kids for a government check ( you know it's true) and have no real desire to be parents.

    I have severe tokophobia which is a phobia of pregnancy and birth and people always call me selfish for wanting to adopt instead. People just think they have the right to tell women what to do with their bodies! I am only 20 and already being pressured to want to get pregnant and have babies. I wish I could give my fertility to someone who wants it because it is something that terrifies me to have because I NEVER want to get pregnant and NO I will not change my mind when I get older I have felt this way forever.

    • @Ray-rw2jy
      @Ray-rw2jy 8 лет назад +11

      I am 100% with you. Growing up my mom always told me all these stories about when she was pregnant with me, and I found it TERRIFYING. After growing to be older and understanding all that she said I rejected the idea of sex as a whole. I remember when I was a kid and all the girls always said "oh I can't wait to marry blah blah blah and have soooooo many kids with them." Now I shudder at the thought. Me and about 80% of my friends have all said that if we are to have kids we were to adopt them instead. I feel it is better to adopt anyway because the Earth shouldn't be able to handle so many people and so many of these kids are all in homes in need of families. So know that me and many other people agree with your opinion. I hope those people learn to leave you alone and respect your opinion on having kids.

      I'm still confused as how people can see the choice of not having kids as selfish. So basically not wanting to take on the responsibility and hardship of caring and raising another human being for there own personal reasons means that person is selfish. That makes it sound like all women have a responsibility to have kids which is totally a very twisted way of thinking.

      Because we may have the ability to have them but don't want them .. At least how I interpret that . I have known since I was 10 that I didn't want any . I'm 30 now . I have way too many health issues that would be passed on so that's another reason I don't want them. If I change my mind down the road I'll adopt but kids just literally make me sick to my stomach , I get migraines .. It's all sensory overload . The only kid I can be around is my best friends almost 11 year old . She's very well behaved and I am her god mom :)

    I cried so much in this video. I was twenty-one years old when I had to have a hysterectomy. I had endometriosis for years then was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I am twenty-seven years old now and people ask so when are you going to have a baby?? I have cried so much in my life..I always wanted to have a family. After I went threw that my husband cheated and got another woman pregnant and I felt worthless. All I ever wanted was a baby and now all I can do is dream if what my child would look like. I think of growing old and never having children visit me on holidays and birthdays. Trish my heart breaks for you. I had my friends daughter who was nine years old ask why God doesn't want me to be a mommy?? I just had to explain God had a different plan for me... and being a mommy wasn't in that plan. Its something you can never get over or accept...case in point my heart will never be whole!

      +Tasha Cottrell I am so sorry with what you went through, hun. :( society is pure poison i swear, making women feel like less of a woman cause she can't "breed".... i wanted kids but then the more i thought about it, i only wanted them due to pressure from friends and family. if i ever wanted kids, i would adopt because so many great kids without families need a loving place to call home. i have fur-kids and they are the best kids. i do hope everything works out in your favor though, and please stay strong *hugs*

    I myself can admit that I'm too selfish to have children. Everyone is different and children aren't for every single person or couple. I don't dislike children at all I love being around and taking my smaller siblings who range from 3-11. But having my own children just doesn't really appeal to me at this point in time. I want to focus on me right now and do what I want to do and accomplish what I want to accomplish. It may change in the future but that doesn't make me a bad person. It's much better to be real and honest with yourself and others! No one should be made to feel any sort of negative way for not wanting children.

    This vlog confuses me when Trisha talks about having kids now with Jason. Unless she is talking about adoption, which I think would be amazing (I am an adoptive Mom myself) but I'm just wondering if she can have children biologically now and had some procedure to help with this. I have pcos so it makes me have a hard time to convince, I have once and it ended in a miscarriage after 9 weeks, I carried my baby till 12 weeks before I knew. (One day before I was to hear the heartbeat) it was devastating for me and I decided the chance of miscarrying again was too much for me that my Husband and I decided to adopt instead. My Daughter is my life, we fostered her for 2 years and adopted her a year ago on the 23rd of this month. I'm so sorry about this situation Trisha and I think you would make an amazing Mother and I hope you are able to someday. ❤❤❤

      I'm adopted, and my mom always told me: it's not because I didn't carry you in my womb that you're not my child.
      I really wish more people would see it like this. An adoptive child, if you establish a good relationship with them, will be all the more grateful and loyal to you since you chose them personally. It can be very gratifying.
      On the flip side, acting like they *need* to be grateful to you, or making them feel like they were "abandoned" by their "real parents" will be a sure fire way to pit them against you, their genitors, and the whole world.
      People really need to remember that "blood makes bonds" is utter BS and misleading fairytales. It's really only a poor excuse to not invest enough of themselves in blood-related relationships, and a ridiculous way to justify narcissism-fueled discrimination against foster children, as if perpetuating your own genes was more important than raising a child with love.
      Of course there are valid reasons to choose not to adopt, but those reasons can be offset when you see how much energy and resources some people will invest in procreating no matter what.
      Because of those things, women like my mother and you have all my respect.

    18 years ago I was diagnosed with POF (premature ovarian failure). So I can totally relate Trish. But there are options if you ever decide to have children. Like me you would have to go the IVF route with a donor egg.
    For a long time I would get mad at the fact that all the crack heads in the world could pop out as many babies as they wanted. And little ole me couldn't even have one. I still have no children but I have my hubby and my for babies. And that's all right by me. Good luck Trish and thanks for making such a great, positive and educational video.

    Actually, it is selfish to choose to have children in 2016. There are starving children dying of hunger and so many children looking to be adopted. You could actually help overpopulation and it would benefit the planet to choose to not have children or to choose adoption.

    Trisha turn your life over to God, get right with him and become celibate. Anything you may have done or whatever, he will forgive you for. Things don't have to end here, you can still have a baby if you believe and trust in God. Sex has impacted your life in such negative ways, don't give in to it anymore and focus on God and being positive and you will start to see things you have never seen. I pray that your health is good and that you will be able to build a better relationship with God and live a happy life. Be well 🙏🏾😚

      Yasemin S God didn't want any of this for his people. God made man to have free will If God intervened in human problems we wouldn't be free will agents. I rather believe there is a God than reek the consequences just because I thought there wasn't. I think people don't want to believe he exists because they want to do what they want to do without concern for others or there selves. Religious people are more happier than people who aren't and that's proven by psychology. Look at the people in India they continue to stay content and give themselves to a higher power and they are even happier than those who have millions without acknowledging there is a God. That should be a sign!

    Don't give up hope. My mom was told she wouldn't be able to have kids after she had a tubal pregnancy (a baby didn't make it to the uterus and started growing in her Fallopian tube causing it to burst) but at 32 and 33 she popped out my sister and me! They told her not to try bc she'd never be able to conceive but here we are. Never give up hope, momma fishie. You never know what God has in store for you!

      +Emma Andersson I'm adopted and have 2 adoptive sisters (adopted when I was 10)an adopted brother and another brother whose biological to my mother... I think it's a wonderful thing to do, to know you've helped someone and raised a child as your own. It may not "feel like the same" if you just think about it but if you actually initiate it, it's a wonderful gift, just as great as having your own...I know when I grow up I will have kids of my own AND adopted. There are people all over the world who adopt too.. It's not a scary or bad thing. Look at Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!

    I found out I would have trouble conceiving when I was a teen and got diagnosed with endometriosis. hard but not impossible. then I got very sick in my early 20s and my weight went so low my periods stopped and never came back. throughout my 20s me and my fiance were more focused on me not dying to worry about if my body would start back up again or not, in that time I was diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder and a rare genetic disorder. me and him had been together since I was 14, he 15, almost 16. then a tragedy happened and he died at age 30, I had just turned 29.. my health slowly is improving but my periods never came back and now that my soul mate is gone, I cannot imagine dating ever again so even though I always wanted to be a mother and we were determined to make that happen one day whether it be naturally or through adoption, I have had to begin to come to terms with the likelihood that I will never be a mother. when he died, that life path died with him I guess. I am about to become a aunt and plan on being a very hands on aunt lol. anyway, though our stories are very different, the pain is the same.

      +Angee Casiano uh...she literally just spoke up about how she slept around, had a bunch of unprotected sex and had to deal with the consequences. is that not honesty? she was open about the diseases that she has had and that takes a lot to even tell ONE person, better yet 2 million.
      even if she isn't honest about other things, this was still a tough topic to talk about. and to put out there that she has had all of these diseases? i have mad respect for her being honest about that.

You dont have to be promiscuous to get STDs.
