@cannycart i used to work at lenox square and it is very easy and unregulated to get into their back hallways and underneath where the shipping docks are...surprisingly so.
it was Otis, as well as the passenger elevator. MusicFreakCC remembers it being otis too, and so does tresgriffen. That motor does sound like an old otis motor, and Schindler modernized this elevator and the passenger elevator when bloomingdale's moved in around 2003
The year is I think 2009, I’m going through the internet one day and I a kid who loves elevators, finds this video. I watch it and think that this video is super cool! After this day, I find the elevator community and begin learning even more about elevators! I’ve watched your channel ever since Andrew and watched most of if not all of your videos. Keep up the amazing content you’re producing these days! I’m glad you didn’t leave RUclips!
That is incredible because this was the first elevator video I can recall watching too. One day I really want to go here to see this. That’s pretty crazy how both of the first video we watched of elevators is the same lol
@dieselducy hmmm...the two elevators i know of that i used to use were: the one that is accessed through the double doors on the second floor next door to papyrus and bloomindale's and also the one that is outside the exit doors on the 2nd floor near abercrombie...you can go through those double doors that are outside at the top of the parking deck. maybe these are the ones you're talking about though. those are the ones i used to use. there's also an elevator leadin to the underground...
@dieselducy ..(continued) service tunnels. it's modern though. accessed on the second floor ...i think the door to get to it is to the left of the diesel store. slap on an apron and some khakis and walk around w. a hand truck and they probably wont ask alot of questions if u wanna explore.
@dieselducy oop one more thing if u havent already been there ...u know there are some real cool elevator's inside the EEOC (former old rich's building at five points) building. they are just barely updated...and also inside the old wing at grady hospital (i used to be a courier so i've been in a lot of buildings everywhere hehe))...
@dieselducy that's a nice freight elevator. square fixtures are ok. it has nice lights. i can easily find public elevators. how can i find the less visible elevators?
@dieselducy At the King of prussia mall, i ran into like 5 people while i was looking for freights so i just used the excuse "I cant find the bathrooms"
How often do you get official clearance for staff/freight elevators and not? What is the criteria? I for a while lived in an illegal live-work space in a retired (now demolished) meat plant near Jack London Square, Oakland, Ca. It had a pneumatic ram/deadman's switch freight elevator that looked like it was cobbled together from junk parts. Hardware in the shaft left me to believe there was an earlier unit using a counterweight mechanism there previously. It had a warning sign that read "Not a passenger elevator," and everyone rode it to get upstairs. The pump sounded like one that was on a now gone glass elevator (possibly EPCO? or similar name from control panel) that lead up to a scenic restaurant at a different nearby building, so I wonder if the salvaged pump from that one ended up as my old live-work freight.
so if i want to find freight elevators i have to go in the stock rooms in the back of the store sweet i cant belive that elevator is that nice for a freight
I think this was installed by bloomingdale's when they moved in, i doubt that that freight elevator is original, but the passenger elevator..., that's another story LOL
@cannycart i used to work at lenox square and it is very easy and unregulated to get into their back hallways and underneath where the shipping docks are...surprisingly so.
Peelle made some escalators. I have seen them on rare occaisions but RARE.

Dieselducy, just a disclaimer: No riding freight elevators without permission.
James Ackley SHUT UP NOBODY CARES ABOUT PERMISSION
Permission is VERY important
@dieselducy that's a nice freight elevator. square fixtures are ok. it has nice lights.
i can easily find public elevators. how can i find the less visible elevators?
@dieselducy At the King of prussia mall, i ran into like 5 people while i was looking for freights so i just used the excuse "I cant find the bathrooms"
@dieselducy What does DS do?
Door Stop.
Just stop. There's no door hold function on a freight elevator.
@@tkefan29 STOP SPAMMING ME!
@kwag4 wasn't the passenger an Otis original to the store from 1959?
Possibly
Shut up, Dante.
How do you get back to these, I can NEVER find them... and can't you get in trouble?
were do u find these places lol like thats in the like bottom of bottom floors of the mall lol
i'm pretty sure thats Kone, the buttons look like it
No. Innovation Universal means NOTHING.
Except that it's definitely not a Schindler, Mr. Trainmaster.
@@tkefan29 Yes it is. Macy's has a contract with Schindler.
This is a Peelle elevator. It said on the door at the beginning of the video.
They make the doors
@dieselducy i didnt know that :(
what do you mean? I remember it being bad when it was Davisons/Macy*s, but not 1/4 as bad as now...
I wished the SLOW Hell Elevator here was like this.
What's a freight elevator?
Freight elevators carry heavy freight , eliminating the hefty work of taking it up the stairs. They have doors that open like a gaping mouth
YOU KNOW GOD DAMN WELL WHAT IT IS.
Wow, no need to be so harsh, Mr. Trainmaster.
LL is no longer public.
How often do you get official clearance for staff/freight elevators and not?

He usually just sneaks on these.
This freight elevator is a schindler because of the square innovation decorator fixtures
It is absolutely not a Schindler, and those are not Decorator. Please stop spreading false information across RUclips.
Yes this is indeed a Schindler, as Macy's has a contract with them. But those are actually square Innovation Universal
so if i want to find freight elevators i have to go in the stock rooms in the back of the store sweet i cant belive that elevator is that nice for a freight
did you get thrown out?
Luckily he didn't
hey thats a huge elevator. nice for putting in a quad... lol....
I think this was installed by bloomingdale's when they moved in, i doubt that that freight elevator is original, but the passenger elevator..., that's another story LOL
oh hey andrew, look at the video. the door brand says Peelle
BTW. Doesn't freigt mean that it isn't for people to go in... READ THAT SIGN TOO
That's actually innovation Universal.
the brand of this is resch~delgado. i dont think they usually come all the way from queens, macy's inc. must pay them a ton of money for their crap
Installed In 2005
Jeez how do you access employee areas and lots of times you survive without getting Busted!
Probably luck lol
i think it is a montgomery
Impossible. It's a Schindler.
Impossible. Schindler does not use Innovation on freights.
@@tkefan29 False
Show me some proof then, Trainmaster. Have a look at any MEI from the time and it will have the same chimes and Innovation.
@@tkefan29 The freight elevator at IKEA in Bloomington, MN. It is a Schindler. MEI does not manufacture. Plus IKEA has a contract with Schindler.
this is actually a KONE
Wrong. Schindler.
Wrong. Generic.
@@tkefan29 It's a Schindler. I know that because Macy's has a contract with Schindler.
@@Ih8kone are you drunk? This is a bloomingdales???
@@ElevatorsOfVA Bloomingdale's is a subsidiary of Macy's!
@Luciferminusone Remember that when you get a fine for trespassing.
Hmm, the doors say Peelle. They made escalators, so maybe they made elevators too? Of course, they could have just made the doors.
No. They didn't make elevators.
Peelle just makes freight elevator doors these days.
@elevatorsonly ok
LOL i was just thinking about releveling and it releveled
no they didn't make elevators
You all who sneak in to places you're not supposed to just to film elevators really need help.
SCHINDLER.
I was at this mall and rode the passenger elevator here. The mall sucks. Full of rich snobbs
I can picture that lmao
1st view!
