Used to sneak in to Eucliffe in the early 80's when I went to HKIS and lived across the street at Repulse Bay Garden. You could come in via Beach Road over a low wall, through some barbed wire. Very cool set up with the tennis court and empty pool. Only had a few old watchmen and a couple of dogs staying there.

+Daniel Hammond The hotel was demolished in the early 1980s to make way for development - then Maggie Thatcher went to Beijing and gave Hong Kong back so the property market collapsed and the site was still empty when we left in '84. In the UK it would have had grade 1 listed status.

+Mark Hurd I remember vividly when the building was destroyed. It even made the news in Australia! Terrible loss. When I first went to HK, much later, I could only gaze in disbelief at the horrible thing they replaced it with. Sad, sad, sad. There are a few modern buildings I admire. But only a few.
