Nice I have always wanted to go That is one beautiful Japanese garden I remember hearing about the otter That place is awesome... Could you imagine that place on a winters day .. Nice to see that smile... That is an absolute beautiful spot and the water quality looks awesome
Yes some cruel (but such is life) heart breaking part. I just can’t believe rivers otters cutting across a big city looking for food. Or somebody bring in those otters. Glad you like the story.
The Japanese (Chinese?) garden is awesome. I recall hearing about the otter and the devastation it caused to the koi pond. So sad. 38 years for a koi is impressive and makes my 23 year old ochibas look like children in comparison. Even though Dragon's Gate is 38 years old it has a long way to go to reach the legendary koi in Japan called Hanako that was reported to have been over 200 years at the time of her death a few years ago. If Dragon's Gate does make it to 200 I'm sure I won't be here to celebrate. 😥Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Thanks for sharing.
If we'd have more time I would have loved to visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen Classical Chinese garden as it is called, but my primary goal of my visit has been achieved and there is definitely going to be a next time. Thanks for watching Ken.
Before actually deciding on traveling, I actually tried to call the conservatory first to see if Dragons Gate is still there but you know these days no one picks up the phone. But yes seeing Dragons Gate is definitely the cherry on top.
Wow! I didn’t know that there’s an oldest koi in the Queen Elizabeth Park(?). I was there with my family in August 2021 just to tour the area but found nothing special about this park.
Nice

Yeap I’m all smiles, got to see Dragons gate, travel with the family, and get to see the other side of the country (finally).
@@KoiRun50 never got that far in BC
Come back another time. Hardly got to do half the things we wanted to do. Including to shop for real state lol.
What a nice story, with a difficult part thanks for sharing 👍
