      More like the river is doing a better job through water erosion. Well not so much as in what you see in this video, but I mean as shown in other videos of this nature, when you have a large body of water held back from the beach by nothing more than a sand bar, all you have to do is dig a little opening through it and once the water starts flowing through then the current of water does all the rest and before you know you got a raging torrent.

    I have to ask why do this excavation at all? The river carves its own chanels when needed (GE historical views). All this did was to scar a natural beach.

    Sign me up. River gets storm sand all the time. Drive out on squishy sand and cut a crazy trench for the river with the long soft waves pushing sea foam about 20’ 7m from the tracks on a beautiful calm day at the ocean. What’s not to love...

    The real question is . . why? Tides naturally close off river mouths when the flow is low. Then when the river flow is high, it will create it's own opening. So why bother?

    is there a reason to do it at high tide?

    • @Kekoalane
      @Kekoalane  4 года назад +1

      The height of the tide really don't change. It's Hawaii, get deep beyond the breakers.

    20 kids with their bare hands seem to do a better job of opening up the river than that guy with his power shovel. Tide's coming in that guy should move that backhoe out of there, lol.

      Time consuming to then have to switch right back to rock. This job probably took an hour, tops.
