Gene’s fiberglass Ferrari body is actually a rare unbuilt Fiberfab Valkyrie. Two models were made. One was set on a VW chassis and had a rear engine. The other had a full steel chassis ready to mount a mid engine V8. I helped a guy build a V8 version. It was a blast. Somewhere I have a copy of the complete instruction book.
Had a chance to buy one in around 1986 for $1500. 70s VW super beetle type. Top of my head was flush with the roof. And the view from the rear glass was a reflection of everything below it. Without the GT40 roof cut outs part of the door. Pain in the ass to get in and out of. Did not have the back tilt rear engine lid. Just a little dog door between the taillights. I didn't buy a first year Fiero due to needing to place your hand on the ground to get out of it. If I remember correctly. The windshield was the same as the 1960s Mustang on the Avenger.
I am 70 and I respect anyone who builds with "foundaround". When did a Porsche become a trailer queen. Air bags mean adjustable ride height. Why are people so negative. Your opinion shows you have never built anything . You go Ian
I've stopped breathing. I can see you now, and your awesome work, on my smartphone. Yep Monster Garage was my favourite program beacose Your is now the best.😊😊😊😊😊
As I’m watching , I love what I see thus far. Those fenders I’m not sure about. Can’t wait to see what you do with them. I hope you can drive this super car on the track an street once done. Plus both of you can fit in it safely.
I saw the finished car already, so I know my advice won't help, but...I've done many custom body panels, and you can use foam blocks and form them into anything you want. I've never done it, but you can also use clay like the OEM's do, cover the foam with layer of clay and carve into whatever form, put back the clay if you need to (not easy with foam). The new kids use computer cad and then cut the foam with a big cnc carver and then fiberglass over it. btw, the finished car looks like....not good. I'm watching to see who I blame for it!
another good technique is to form a wire "buck" frame of all your bodylines, then stretch some flexible material across it, and lay fibreglass over that. I agree that the finished product here wasn't great, I hope it gets a return and some re-working like the purple packard did.
No room for people in the clam shell lid. Cut it down the middle and widen it. Replace the wind shield with a Porsche 956LH style windshield. Make it a triangle three seater. Way it is now be smacking your knuckles and forehead into that windscreen. Hell it is a shock car, so make it a center one seater. Why add in that dead weight passenger.
Neither of these two guys are giving any concern to the final handling and driving aspects of this monstrosity. They’re building a trailer queen. Every time I see you one of those all I see is beautiful parts wasted that could be on a car being used. Just the spacers they’re gonna using to keep those wheels out there and the size of those wheels are gonna make that thing handle like a 56 Cadillac and they’re using a Porsche to do it😢 I don’t even wanna think about the fact that thing is completely bottomed out the suspension on the bump stops to get the car to sit like this. They aren’t thinking about it and that’s the opposite of what any real driving machine I’ve watched build be built like
That's the thing with Ian's work. He's an artist. He doesn't build cars, he builds rolling statues. They look good on the outside, but his structural engineering method can best be described as "slipshod"
I agree a "supercar" needs to handle well (unless its a Hellcat style drag supercar..), but I have not seen how they ruined the boxster handling..yet. I do agree the cars he does are not practical at all, and a supercar may not be for luggage space, but they are practical on the race track.
Just wanted to mention I love that you have a shop dog. Every shop needs a four-legged supervisor.

I have to admit, that Porsche rear bumper surprised me, I thought it would be wrong, but it really looked good on there.
I just discovered this channel, it's an instant sub. This is my style of building. Hack & form
Brilliant 🦘👍😎
That looks like a Solid Sterling Avenger body from the late 70's early 80's. I also noticed the flag on the wall is backwards.

What a surprise that it turned into the pile of $h!T that I predicted.😂
CONGRATS!! the new shop looks sick.
Hook your marker to a retracting key chain
Gday mate
SEMA?
Backend looks a little like a Solstice
Hmm dissect a Porsche stick a kit car body on the frame then put the Porsche body on and modify .

Slip a V8 914 under a two seater ghia convert
I only subscribed because of this build, and now you dont cover it anymore.....
عمل رائع ولاكن عليك ان ترتدي قفازات اثناء العمل .
What's happening to little jule bild
Victor keeps saying supercar I think he’s misunderstanding the definition, what he’s having built is a trailer queen. If it will get on the trailer
What ever happened to this project?
A "Ferrari F40" ......... shameful !!!! I think FORD will take real offence at that comment !
CACA 😒

It is their car. Sorry it is not up to your “standards”.
Watching something being built doesn't make you an expert in ANYTHING

@@Ducky69247with your knowledge and expertise, it sounds like you've driven a few of his vehicles.
