- In 1962 Joe Meek produced a song called Telstar, by the Tornadoes. It was the second instrumental single to hit No.1 on both the US and UK charts. Now, 50 years later, Martin Cilia has recorded a tribute to this famous song, along with a unique video featuring vintage guitars from his collection.

The pinnacle of Surf Guitar. I picked up an Atlantics' CD & and a Martin Cilia CD while in W. Australia this year. It doesn't get better.

50 years ago, by brother and I, listened to this song on AM, transistor radio, every night, at the same time, before bed. It's hard to find a new, and creative performance of it-but your's is excellent-hat's off sir!

The Early 60s my memories where of hearing the Atlantics recording of Bombora at the Tweed heads skate rink. It was the cue for the speed skaters to have there turn. Plus the surfie bands at Green mount.

I love this melody. Have you seen a japanese girl play her Mosrite guitar when she is 9 years old? She is playing Ventures style surf rock. Her name is Chicchi and she is about 20 now.

Nel 1964 al Supercinema della mia città (in Italia), ho avuto un grossissimo successo, interpretando "Bombora" del favoloso gruppo "THE ATLANTICS". Peccato che a quei tempi non si trovavano facilmente in giro le VIDEOCAMERE.

first can i say i like your version of telstar. BUT i must point out the telstar was recorded by The TORNADOS not the Tornadoes the tornadoes is an American group. also Telstar was the First to have a Number 1 hit both sides of the Atlantic. John
