    Love the look and the sound and the price gets a thumbs up. I'd prefer all hollowish guitars had access plates in back and dump the split coils. It's also big enough to double as a poker table should the need arise.

    Impressive playing…and the Guild sounds great!

    My first electric guitar in 1966 was a Guild Starfire. It was great then, and they are still great today. Back then they came with flat wound strings in the more jazz mode.

    I played one today at Sweetwater. This guitar is great. Neck shape is wonderful. Tones are fab for this price point. Build quality is very good. Played easy and vibrato is just fine. I went out of store with a Gretsch but Im thinking this would be a nice addition to my tool box. A bargain at this price!!

    I read somewhere Leo Fender may have got the sea foam green color for Telecasters the first time used was from left over paint he used for the shop bench and shelfs in his shop .

    My first good guitar was a 1965 Starfire III when I was a high school freshman in 1965. Sure wish I still had it.

    Cooper could play an old Winston with a broken truss rod and 1/4 inch action, and it would sound just fine! (:^D

    Hi Guys. Maybe someone can help me out...i have read different things about the construction of the guitar...even some sellers claim it as a hollow body. Some say there is only a block under the bridge, the rest is completely hollow. Others just claim it as a semi hollow with a center block. Do you know what's right?

    • @dwightpeters
      @dwightpeters 5 месяцев назад

      there is a block under the bridge. looks like a slab of mahogany on top of a chunk of maple for the block. sounds much more like a hollowbody than the harley benton 335 for comparison

    Die Gibson ES 135 ist dann sozusagen ein Nachbau der GuiId StarFire. The Pre modeI for Gibsons ES 135 was the GuiId Starfire it seems. The fretboard , (i owned one of the earIy 90 as a so caIIed Grauimport in Germany), was to smaII , though it was a good sounding guitar , so i soId it. Next guitar wiII be this its an originaI. excuse for German i cannot express myseIf so weII in US EngIish

    I love a guitar that sounds amazing clean. I have a strat and LP so I’m looking at an alternative. Either this or the D’Angelico

    Great tone, great color ,great player!
    I may be an old fogey, but I have a 40 year old Washburn Tanglewood acoustic that looks very similar. I don't need this, but at this price...why not?

      ...and to Cooper I will add, a few months back I mentioned that I would awake with a McKee tune in my head. A few days ago it was you. Your Golden Apple might have a worm.
      Also, I enjoy the podcast and coming from a guy who has Aja and Stardust on vinyl, Beatles Rubber Soul is worth a listen.

    I've been listening closely to the split coil vs the p90 and the p90 just sounds muddy as hell. I'll be going with the split coil.

  • @anthonybizzell3857
    @anthonybizzell3857 2 года назад +1

    What's up with your production? The video is blurry/fuzzy and the audio is muffled. Thankfully, the guitar/Cooper came through crisp and clear. I like the pickups on this guitar. The single coil sound doesn't suffer being split-coil, like many models do.

      Starfires are made in South Korea, lndonesia and China. Price goes accordingly.

    I am one of the rare folks who don't like coil splits . I just like regulars pots and the whole pickup to work when doing my feeble attempts at guitar playing
