    Far too long ...I certainly wouldn't be using Pink Stuff on my ninja 15 in 1. One rule of cooking thoroughly clean after use and after every few major cooking lemon, bicarb and water on steam. For 15 /20 mins...works everytime keeping it clean

      Does it clean burnt (black) grease on the element? I find that leaving that on the element will make the next cook give off a really nasty smell.

      Use a tea towel & get a firm grip of it - then gently turn this way & that whilst pulling towards you at the same time…keep adjusting your grip if need be & persevere 💪🏽 it’s not difficult or tight just a little fiddly that’s all.

    • @livelearnexplore

      I would try and clean it with bicarbonate as much as I’d possible because it may cause smells or smouldering - it shouldn’t affect the heat/cooking process though.

      When you turn on air fryer it will emit black smoke and it happened with me thrice with cooking lentils and I replaced cuz was in warranty but I literally hate this appliance now lemon and bicarb just does nothing to lentils boiled n touched the grill coil.

      I assume you're asking why he DID remove it, no? You just pull it out and then slip it back in around the wire - doesn't matter which side since it's symmetric.

    First, great video. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough.
    If you don't mind a question though...: Would you recommend the 'smartlid' over the 2 piece model. I LOVE my old one, but after years it is dying on me. I was planning to get the Deluxe XL model with extra lid, but then found this one. I do a lot of saucy stuff, and find that I need to wash my lid very often... Is this cleaning process worth not having the extra lid and the steam crisp?

    • @livelearnexplore
      @livelearnexplore  2 года назад +5

      Hi Adam, thanks for the positive feedback! I can’t speak to the double lid model since this is my first ever Ninja but from the comments I’ve been reading most people are happy to be rid of the lid switching - also the steam crisp is one of the biggest selling points and works really well. If you keep on top of the cleaning then you shouldn’t need such a thorough clean regularly as it is time consuming. So steam clean as regular as you can and then a deep clean every so often should keep things looking good 👍🏽

    • @TheOnlyChrisB
      @TheOnlyChrisB 2 года назад

      Hey adam which one did you end up choosing? I own the deluxe and its awesome, i would only upgrade to this if i knew the steam crisp is better than just air frying.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal 2 года назад +1

      With the smart lid version, you clean the lid the same way. It just incorperates the pressure valve into one lid, so the cleaning process for the lid with the coils in it is the same as in this video. The pressure lid is a snap to clean by itself, since it's off the machine and there isn't anything in the way. I still prefer our Smartlid Cooker anyway though. It doesn't really get too dirty as long as you stay on top of it, and there isn't an extra lid that you need to find a place to store.

    So nothing you cook after this tastes like soap? Steaming it does that magnificent a job of removing all traces of soap from all interior surfaces? Cuz the next pressure cook, all the water condenses up in there and drips down on the food.
    I'm not sure how this thing can work with a non-removable lid, it seems like anything you cook, especially pressure cook, will make anything you put in next time taste like that. How can you clean all the tastes/odors from all the impossible to reach surfaces of that lid after pressure cooking? Or how do you keep the greasy coating from previous air frying from dripping down and tainting food the next time you pressure cook?

      If you mean the pressure mode, that doesn't seem to clean any black (burnt) grease that gets on the element which can make a pretty horrible smell the next time you cook. Is there another mode that's more thorough, which I've missed?
