I worked at Avington and ran the café. Some of the regular anglers who caught big fish would sometimes walk for over an hour without casting. They caught some massive fish which I learnt to butterfly fillet for them.
I love snaring a few out from under that tree on lake 2 in the summer when there is some cover there. I’ve done a few corporate days there and they like the shelter in the afternoon after lots of fly lines over their heads in the morning……..great fun!
Always a good banker there Ian, some good fish there too! not had a double for the last couple of trips but lost one both times that were defo over ten! 'bad angling' lol
@@troutwithleigh4503 all got to be careful with corvid19 etc stay safe both of you looking forward to some more videos from rutland might even see you there in around 23/05/22
Peter lots of tree's gone on the first lake and a lot cut back on lake 2 also, easier to cast but as you say on cover especially in the winter! have a load of units for you if your still interested ?
Long time Leigh, happy to know your safe and well. Another great and informative video well done! You will have to try again for the big one! Cheers Martin
It’s been so long since I went trout fishing it reminds of my grandfather he used to bring me in my dad trout fishing at his camp sadly he passed but hopefully in years to come I will keep the tradition alive! I am 16 so soon I will be able to drive back to the camp and make videos of me fishing there!
Wow sounds great and very nostalgic, got some great memories of my Granddad and my Father taking me fishing in my early years, set me off on a life time of fun and wonderful locations all over the world!
I’ve had some cracking sessions under that tree Leigh, my video on RUclips ‘Under the Avington willow’ shows what a great swim it is… @Grandpa Chris R. I’ve really enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Was a real tricky day Ian, I have not got a problem with indicator or bung fishing and its a method used on most fishery's now, like it or not its not going away! go onto any small water and more anglers are sitting on there boxes watching an indicator now a days and do agree with you that to many anglers now start fishing like this before trying more conventional methods beforehand. On this day I tried an array of different methods but the fish only wanted it small and static, and there is no drought that presenting buzzers and a the right depth static is deadly on its day, and likewise can be fished on the wrong day totally ignored!
Nice water and great fishing too, tight lines and greetings from New Zealand,, Tony.
Thanks Tony, fished there for a number of years its a lovely location and always well stocked and presented
Hi,Leigh, nice to see you back, great upload, nice location, and informative. Kind regards Mike. Norfolk. Tight lines.
