Sir,I can relate to your experience. I was a psych nurse and addiction counsellor for many years in North america.I sense that you went thru this experience in 1980 in US. Many non-pilipino Drs. Just don't know how to treat Asian patients. There are many kind and causes of depression. Most times ,their lack of knowledge To our culture and lack of medical assessment ,results to misdiagnosis and poor Treatment approach. Then,one is labeled as crazy.We also have a culture that people Puts down,belittle and no empathy on persons that had tough times.Many of our kababayans get stuck labelling one who had seen or even consulted a psychiatrist. I do agree also that God has plan for everyone.Also,Recovery is not possible without Faith and God's intervention. God bless you Mr .Lopez.
