My Midland WR-100 has a problem. It makes this high pitched noise, but when I turn it off and leave it for a while, then turn it back on, it works for a shot time. My mother considers it to be an intermittent problem, meaning that it does not occur regularly.
I know this is a late reply but, the reason for that is the capacitators in it have wore out. You either need to buy a new one, or attempt to replace the capacitators if possible.

a capacitor has died, guides to fix have been made.
I have a 262 and there was a problem bc Idk if it was the antenna that made the radio sound Bad so idk if I have to replace the Antenna

Looks like a bad power outlet on the back of the radio if it's plugged in but no power. I got a 262 in 2019 to replace a broken WR100 Version 5.

@@XTRgames2024 Almost all of us, the Version 5 WR100 is the most popular and the most classic radio. They do have flaws but they could be fixed.
It died on my 8th bday..
My 262 died in October to November in 2021 I got it in July 2021 so didn’t last long
