Nice look at Odessa Liza. :) Don't forget you can have Ko-Fi, Buy me a Coffee pages etc for fans to support you! You're BF seems like a nice guy and speaks great English too! 🙂💙 👍
Hey Liza, you might not realize it right now, but you are doing a great service to your country. It's because of Ukrainian RUclipsrs like you, That are sharing the beauty of Ukraine with the world, that you are creating an interest in Ukraine for the future. It's because of Ukrainians like you, That I'm sure that after the war, there will be a flood of international tourism to Ukraine! keep up the good work! Beautiful country, beautiful cities and beautiful people! Slava Ukraini!
Liza Im a westerner from Vancouver BC, your stories are doing Ukraine a great service, spreading awareness to a country that does not get the coverage it deserves. I myself met a beautiful Ukrainian girl here, where I live. I then visited her in Kharkiv where she was from in 2020. I had the most unique opportunity to take the train to see Odessa and was blown away by the old world elegance and the opulent restaurants and cafe's, to see and speak to some beautiful and friendly Ukrainians. Ukraine is like a romantic kingdom with Beauty peering around every corner! I would go back there in a heartbeat.
As an American from California, Ukraine is such a strange place. The only way I can describe it is that everything seems so elegant, fancy and cultured. The way people dress when they go out, the architecture, the interior design of buildings. It is like a paradise kingdom of good looking people lol.
Thankyou for covering Odessa a second time. It is where my grandmother lived in her early years in about 1890. Sad to see what the war is doing to Ukraine but it is good to see food is plentiful in the markets and Ukraine's great cities are clean and much cleaner than where I live in the US. Keep up the good work on the video tours, it is appreciated.
@UCU75mad7qm1z6HZiuuGU_3Q All of my relatives came from what is now Ukraine. They migrated to the north of Odessa and some west and southwest of Odessa. The came from Germany per an invitation from Cathern the Great. They were farmers and migrated to southwest Russia in about the 1850's. I have the German names of the settlements but I also have GPS coordinates to find them on todays maps. Per Google Earth, there is a large percentage of your country that is farm land making Ukraine a key food supplier to the region. I was within three months of traveling to Odessa for a tour of many of the settlement areas. Unfortunately the Covid pandemic canceled those plans. Hopefully I will some day get another chance. Looking forward to more of your videos. Best Regards, Dan Pflugrath
P. S. I love your English. It's very good and very up-to-date modern. Your Ukrainian accent for it makes it so beautiful to hear. Thank you for bringing us along and showing us all the different parts of Ukraine. It made me so sad to see the war-torn parts of it. I'm so proud of the Ukrainian people for their resilience and bravery. And for their support of their brave soldiers. слава Україні. Я люблю Україну.
Odessa is so beautiful, the restaurants, the architecture, the old school amusement rides. Thank You for sharing country, count on my support, would like to see more. 🇺🇦🇺🇦 26:02
In the USA we call them carousels too, and we typically see them at the carnival during the rodeo. Its nice to see people are adapting to the current situation.
Liza, yours stories are very important so thank you. You are showing the world how beautiful Ukraine is and how Ukrainians are clearly very proud of their country. Well done, keep up the great work and once again - thanks!! 😊 When Ukraine wins the war, videos like yours will ensure many tourists will visit your beautiful country and enjoy the lovely people.
Yes, we understand carousel but in English English, I am in London, we call these a 'Merry-Go-Round'.. The old ones like this always have horses. Wow, this one is one of the best in the world, without a doubt. There cannot be many left now. Where would one store one of these? You two make a nice couple.
The Luna Parks that's called a merry-go-round but also known as a Carousel. Thanks for showing us Odessa. I want to go there very soon. Good Travels 😃🦜 Amen 😇😇😇
I Love Odessa. I was there ~5 years ago and was planning to go back the year Putler started his full invasion. I WILL be back as soon as the war is over to stay as long as my Visa will allow, to see the whole country. I Loved the people (even though almost no one spoke English). I remember Everything that you've shown (OK: not your fancy restaurant!) Stay Strong. Never Give Up. Slava Ukraini. Glory to the Heroes.
Here in Bratislava, your neighbour country, there is a lot of Ukrainians. Especially at the beginning of the war, lots of moms with kids, very sad to see. I’m glad they’re safe but at the same time it’s sad
Odessa looks like a fantastic city to travel to. A long way from the USA though. Once Ukraine achieves its victory over russia it will be on our list of places to see.
I don't know what planet you're living on, but Ukraine CANNOT beat Russia. Ukraine should negotiate and lose the four oblasts, because if they don't negotiate, Russia will go past those four oblasts and take even more oblasts. I've been following this war very closely. Odessa is not part of those four oblasts. It will be better for Ukraine to give up some territory, I can assure you that. They've already lost so many soldiers....more than you think.
It looks beautiful, You guys are such and a beautiful couple and it's so nice to genuinely see to people that absolutely adore one another :) ,Sending love, Boston USA...
Theme parks like that were in many resort towns in Soviet Russia. I'm surprided that they had kept it going in Odessa because few could afford to go to rides during the 90s. I was scared to look around while riding that panorama wheel.
This is one of the best compliments I could pay you. You look almost exactly like actress Helen Slater, when she started in a movie called "Happy Together." I loved her so much, because of how she looked in that movie. She was also the very first "Supergirl" movie made.
Liza, great video of Odess. I think one of the issues with lack of other foreign tourists is the amount of time needed to travel. Without airline access its time consuming. I want to visit Odesa eventually. Is there ferry service to Yalta or is that off limits? Stay safe.
it is not that all people are afraid to go, with the airlines not working it is a very long shlep. also people with families are taking a huge risk which can have devastating consequences on their family that did not go or that did go and survived the next missile strike.
How come the accommodations are all booked out, since Russians don't come for vacation anymore (let alone many Europeans)? Because of a lot more domestic vacation? Is there also much less supply?
Actually "mamaliga" is a romanian word for the dish of polenta, historic Basarabia being also a former romanian region. Basarbs were a romanian dynasty of kings from the XIVth century, hence the name Basarabia (lands of the Basarabs). For a romanian it sounds funny as a name for a restaurant, but for a foreigner it might sound cool. But then again, in Odessa there's also a neighbourhood called Moldovanka (or such)... but moldavians are actually romanians. Only for the tsarists, for the soviets and for the ignorants they constitute a different nation.
