Ivern is an AP jungle support. His main thing is that he can get jg buffs without having to fight them and can set up roams and baits with his bushes. The big thing is that he's AP not a true tank so building just health on his is a bad idea because you will literally do nothing to anyone.

You do realise that means he gets Blue/Red in 4-5 seconds and at full HP right?
And with that, he can go into your jungle, take your buff and walk away in an instant, not even Nunu or Shaco can counter jungle like that

+Jackson Faulkner your smite isnt up quick enough to do 3 buffs in a row... you have to put your passive on your red then straight to blue ( put passive) then go smite their red and back. then go psv krugs, take red, passive razorbeaks, take blue and then gank and you are lvl 4 with a 3 buff advantage if the gank goes well go back pick up item and go take the stuff you prepared aswell as smiting any new camps that you see and you should be lvl 6

Gotta love how all the bronzies and silvers say Ivern is worthless. Same went for bard and kalista, you probably have 0 clue on how to play and how to build him.
Which is understandable, even qt didnt know wtf he was doing; not using brushes to get in aa range, waiting till he was almost dead to ult (when you die, daisy dies too etc).

The fact is, Ivern is pure utility, which means he's garbage compared to other junglers that bring both utility and something else (either damage or tankiness). He has few redeeming qualities, but he's not a gamechanging champion unless you pick a specific team comp.
Oh, and Bard was fucking useless as well, until they buffed his damage early game and made him a lane bully support.

Bard has had 7 buffs since his release and Kalista was op, but people didn't know how to play her. Ivern is just straight garbage.

I feel that Jihn and Kled were actually in a pretty good middle ground. Most people said that Jihn was total shit while actually he was just fine and it took a while for people to realize.

The whole point of Ivern support is to take smite and steal buffs instantly. If enemy jungler starts red, you go to blue, passive + smite you kill it instantly, get buff, and someone else of your team can get the buff too.

Even when people are playing Ivern to maximum potential he still doesn't have enough CC to make him worth picking over another jungler worth it. They need to give daisy some steroids, make her immune to CC, first hit garaunteed knock up and then the person hit has a 2 or 3 second grace period. Other wise she just gets kited too easily, only getting more than one knock up in messy fights where enemies and allies are mixed together.
And maybe making it so that the 5 second new Bush vision only applies to viewing the enemy team. It would give more utility during fights since you could cancel enemy auto's better (which admittedly would be kind of broken but he needs something)

Ivern is pretty weak though. He's basically a CC supportive version of Annie. Really similar damage scaling (although he builds tank), minions, similar spells. Ivern just has the CC versions. You need a solid team comp to be built around him for him to be effective. Also feels like he's really reliant on people communicating vocally, more than just about any other champ. His bushes can go from super useful to a huge waste of a kit slot if people aren't on board with your intentions. Shield's sort of in the same boat.
Ivern himself its not a tank, he gets ap+health ítems so Daisy gets more mr/armor while you are there to support her with shields and your Q so she tank

You can't base a champion's entire kit/build on one ability. Daisy's too inconsistent with a high CD. Ivern's damage is laughable when you look at how inconsistent his abilities are damage-wise, so you're basically forced to build tanky, but building tanky feels weaker than someone like Maokai who just does what he does but better.
He's just an all around weak champion who's too team reliant to function all that well in Solo Queue.

ivern can do great as support. some key things you should know tho.
1. ALWAYS have smite. if you do t want it to build i to anything thats fine but you should still get the jg item starting to get early lvl2.
2. havi g smite means you can roam and preassure the opponents jungle a.k.a if he starts red top you can smite instantly steal their blue.
3. your ratios on shield are .8 for the shield and .7 for the damage so building ap leaves some massive protection. So ivern honestly should be looked at as a tank when his kit does t really benefit from it when daisys damage and tankiness scales off of ap and ranks.
4. Brush always. MIND GAMES MAN brush by tower for ganks when tri and river are warded brush infront of tri if they ward and cant clear. the range on the brush is ridiculous and provides vision so never face check. also ylu can link the bot lane brush into one if you need for ganks when its not warded.
Ivern is not easy but provides so much to the team

I think Ivern's more of a defensive jungle/support type of champ that's better played for counters/defense like Janna. Not much damage but lots of cc and tactics you can work around with.
