One of the most beautiful songs I believe I've ever listened to. I first heard it in the summer of the pandemic, so four-five years ago. I remember I would sit in on the desk chair (which I still use) at night and listen outside, since I had to keep the windows of my room open because of the heat. Once, I heard children playing, and it made me feel happy. Listening to this reminds me of that feeling, the wonder that I felt. It's just now passed the crescendo of the song. Next summer, I should use my time to enjoy the sky more. It's the most beautiful part of where I live, I think.

The confusion of trying to find god. The confusion of religion. The human need, no matter how alpha you are, for a master to guide you, for a higher power to tell you what you're doing is right. What a powerful song.

This isn't a song about the confusion of trying to find god - quite the opposite. It's a caution against feeling undue certainty when you think you've found god. The song mentions "the call to war", and likens this to "the siren's singing" - in ancient mythology, the sirens were evil spirits who lured sailors to their death with their beautiful singing. The message hear is clear - don't be so quick to convince yourself that "your master's voice" has told you what to do, because that voice might be telling you to do something truly terrible.
This is very much the modern equivalent of Dylan's 'God on Our Side'.
