Wow, it was so thoughtful and mature of 👊 to let 🦔 open up like that. It really reflects the more reserved and serious approach the sonic series is taking with this new entry, so it’s a very realistic portrayal.
If they could make the doom slayer a hero good enough for modern standards, same thing with duke nukem by the internet, Then I believe sonic can be made relevant today too
That's probably easier said than done, but keeping Ian Flynn and the game/level designers around is an idea (and bringing some more writers aboard, preferably the ones that adapted Frontiers to Japan)

I was worried with the time remaining in the video, but I’m glad Sonic was able to voice his thoughts so clearly, eloquently, and succinctly in those last two seconds. Incredible script writing and I loved the voice performance!

This is true. Honestly I think this has been an issue with Game Freak as of late. They are literally one of the biggest franchises. And while their games are NEVER Sonic level of bad. They aren't as great as people think they should be since the fans have VERY high expectations at this point.

This video is exactly thirty one seconds long and yet it manages to use all but a few to write a subtle and thought provoking narrative. It's so well written, it even makes you think that SEGA released or voiced it. But no, everyone knows SEGA doesn't have enough creativity for that. This appears to have a shit-post level to it so you go in with no expectations, which promptly get blown out of the water. The dialogue is actively engaging combined with a creative use of camera angles and medium, pulling you in. You begin to get invested, and your curiosity builds. You sit in silent anticipation, waiting patiently through each eternity long second, practically squirming in place waiting for the fabled sentence, the phrase that has been driving you wild. It finally arrives, and a mental explosion of sheer absurdity blows you back against your chair, your body hitting the cushion so hard it bounces back from sheer force, mad laughter erupting out of your face. great video
I like to think that the punchline of this video also represents how Sonic feels like he can be a normal person (aka real life hedgehog) around Knuckles instead of the brave and optimistic hero who literally runs into danger (aka his blue anthropomorphic self).

Plot twist.... I've always had high expectations of Sonic. It's just that his games haven't met them in forever... I clicked on the video expecting a pun, then as the video went on it made me think it was going to be an actual serious conversation. Then it was a pun and I was surprised.
