Hi, very interesting topic you have chosen there. But I would like to add one thing to the audio routing: While the compressor on the DT is cool and very handy to have, I value the FX Channel on the ST a bit more. In my case I use the DT more for melodic stuff and all my drums come from the ST. With that, I am able to sidechain a little more specific and use a „Master-Filter“ on the FX track. But at the end it all boils down to what you want to use your boxes for.
That is interesting. If I only use DT and Syntakt I’d might go down that route. If I really need a compressor I could use the EHX Platform, a fairly good stereo compressor, at the end. Good for thought.
That's what I was thinking as well. I have a Digitakt and Syntakt and am planning to make an album just with the two of them plus the Empress Zoia over Christmas vacation and wanted to see how to get them to work together (which this still helped a lot with), but I think I'd prefer to have everything go through the analog FX track.
thanks for this. is there any way i can connect all three such that i can control transport and pattern change from any of the three devices? At the moment, how you shown, you have to use transport and pattern change from digitakt always. Sometimes i forget and use the transport or pattern change from syntakt or digitone and it messes everything up!
Thanks for this Tutorial, works like a Charme! One Question tho - TRS or TS? Inputs on the DT are unbalanced, outputs are balanced but everyone's telling me to use TS - I have quite a Noise Issue, so I will change all the TS Cables to TRS - how is your cable management in this setup? Cheers + Sub
I’m getting a lot of drift using the DT clock and transport send to Syntakt any tips on how to fix this? It works eventually but with a lot of button pressing.
Thinking hard about getting these 3 boxes. Quick question, as I'm a noob to elektron. Once all 3 are wired to eachother can I simply send all the audio to a h4n or computer to record without mixer etc?
This was an old comment, but definitely. You would have it set up to the Digitakt and would probably have to organize it so each box had a different auto-channel, so you could control whichever selected track on each box while on that auto channel. To avoid interfering with the 9-12 Syntakt tracks, you could do 13 for Digitakt, 14 for Syntakt and 15 for Digitone, or whatever made sense. This is in theory of course, I'm also here to learn!
Thanks for solving my 'no sound from syntakt' issue, much appreciated brother.
No problem 👍
Just the video I need for my new Syntakt and Digitakt boxes

the FX track would be even greater if the ducking envelope didn't produce clicks at short envelope attack times... 😢
Great Video for Elektron Lovers.
Thank you very much!
Thanks!
You rock man. Thanks!
Hey, thx for sharing this, really helpfull dude!
Thanks!
Oh, the unholy Trinity! I also have these three beauties, that's why I'm here!

Would the setup change with the Digitakt II?

Hi! Great video! Can you tell how to change patterns on Syntakt using Digitakt?
If I’m not wrong you need to have the 3 boxes on the same Midi Channel, not sure but seems it’s a known bug. But to be checked
Just doing the test, auto-channel must be the same on each device and it works

Yes! That is what I do. You can also use Elektrons overbridge app on the computer to record it all.
and which on of these goes to the soundcard or interface?
Hi, how can I do them switch patterns at the same time? Just like dt pattern 1 to 2 also dn pattern 1 to 2. I try it on my Its doesn't work😅.
How would you do to connect Digitakt, Digitone and Analog Rytm mk2?
did u figure it out? im wonder about it too! and how would you also connect all those three into an analog heat?
interesting - But I really want to leave the inputs for my digitakt free for sampling other stuff! I guess I'll just have to lose the compressor
can you connect a midi keyboard routed to all 3?

I own a digitone key and digitakt and I’m debating if I get a syntakt
It complements them pretty well. But with only two hands I rarely use them all at the same time :)
What type of midi cable ?
It’s called a DIN-5 MIDI cable.
Thx
