    Too much? No
It was a great story ending for Glen, and Abraham, along with being an epic edge of your seat cliff hanger introduction to Negan.

Not Abraham at all he was completely overshadowed and forgotten the second Glenn died. Not to mention another character death changed from the source material for a cheap two character deaths. His comic death was so much better.

absolutely not too much... I would even suggest that season 6 episode 16 and season 7 episode 1 are the best episodes that walking dead has ever produced....with meaning...I recently have experienced death in my own life losing a brother...so when I go to walking dead its literally like therapy for me because of the [Early seasons] explaining death and judgment in a world that collapsed with no foundations available no more....but I think the whole Negan arc was such a mature idea in the comics that AMC wasn't ready to produce it throughly In a complete season. episodes 6x16, 7x01 are literal peaks of content that walking dead has to offer...

Breaking news: there is gore in a tv show about zombies. Never got the outrage from Glenn’s death outside of him being a main character. We literally saw Rick bite a man’s throat out and put walker guts on them. I guess it aired around the time of the 2016 election when the world started to complain about everything.

They should've killed Glenn (only) like the comic in that moment.

As cool as Glenn is and always will be, the dragging of his memory to be crucial points even 12 years later is a little crazy. Considering these people had actual families and a life for over 20 years before the pandemic. When you think about it Maggie and Glenn only knew each other for like a year and a half and every day was lustful and fight for survival, its wild to think about.

In retrospective, I think Glenn should have lived. His absence in seasons 7 onward, especially 9 after Rick left, felt almost hollow without him. I think his death had a terrible writing effect on Maggie that’s hurt her character because that’s all she’s motivated by now.
Him continuing to be around in Rick absence would have made that phase of the show stronger than not imo.

it television show right? but the thing is scenarios like this would absolutely happen if in our Reality the world collapsed - people psyche would flip upside down 🙃but unfortunately I guess the walking dead wasn't seen in that light. The content in walking dead has some of the most gut wrenching experiences that bring forth things like this. I truly believe in some way that AMC adaption of the walking dead has a deeper meaning within the chaos that ensues rick journey - its a sanity playground unraveling rick psyche seeing where the walls of psyche are weak itching him to give up 😮‍💨 seeing two strangers turn family members banished in the head with a barbed wired baseball bat isn't just some Gory horrific thing that they created to appeal audiences - I might be looking to DEEP but I believe TWD was stepping into an arc of Hopeless on a scale that people can't relate to because our world has a sense of sanity at least in surface level . Zombie Apocalypse or WorldWide disaster is a Red Flag in the human psyche it really shows that there was something going wrong in the world even before the World went to shit and maybe what this scene didn't do correctly was not showing the beginning of the zombie apocalypse at the start of TWD. Yes we
got to see Rick but he was already just thrown inside of the apocalypse without having that experience of living normal life then seeing the world change right before his eyes.
