Thank you, people always get confused by this lol. Hybe is a huge building with hybe artist init but they have different labels they are under in. For example bts and txt is under bighit while seveteen and fromis_9 is under pledis.

SEVENTEEN was originally supposed to debut with 17 members, but debuted with only 13. They explain the name by saying “13 members + 3 units + 1 group = 17.”
The 3 units are hip hop, vocal and performance. AND the one Trish likes with the red hair is THE8. 😜🥵
please stop spreading the wrong information. there were NEVER 17 members at the trainee time, the average number could reach 15 or 16 at some point, but not 17 ever. as far as i remember, there're just 17 known guys who was able to debut in SVT, but only 13 of them made it at the end. honestly, idk why then PLEDIS decided to call them SEVENTEEN. maybe long way before the 17Tv they thought about the possibility of creating a large group consisting of 17 members, but they refused it almost immediately

@@markieyang as far as i know during 17tv and when they announced the plan abt Seventeen, pledis originally want to debut a boy group with 17 members, it's just that everything changes every now and then, also issues happened, other trainee quit and now we have the ot13 rn
@@kaiaxiii.svtcaratzone let me remind you that during first episodes of 17Tv the original line up consisted of 12 boys. later some more joined, a little more later some left, so like that they've never reached the number of 17. maybe PLEDIS really wanted to debut a 17 members boy group, but i swear they quit this idea early on

Seventeen is under Pledis since pre debut time until now, they are now under Hybe since Hybe's acquisition of Pledis. It might start from 2020 then in 2021 they officially moved to Hybe's building and become family with The other Hybe's artist including BTS, TXT etc

They were named SEVENTEEN because...
They have 13 members. 3 sub-units which are VOCAL, PERFORMANCE AND HIP-HOP TEAM. And lastly, they are a 1 group.

Well as far as I know correct me of im wrong seventeen are just thirteen but they're called seventeen bcz of their members in the units they have in the group(such as rap unit ,vocals units.) so those members units if u count them will make seventeen
