- The ShadyParadox Files is a meta series that reflects upon the history, philosophy, and future of the ShadyParadox RUclips channel itself. Due to the unusual and implicit style of my content, a lot of questions and miscommunications have built up over the years, so I've candidly put all the answers into one place.
As with my RealMyst and Exile series that preceded it, my attempt at a commentary series of Space Quest IV wasn't really a "Let's Play" in the classic sense. I wanted to make something more performative with a fictional player Character, but that turned out to be much harder than I expected.

I actually made this video early on in the year, but I didn't want to post it until I had the next episode well under way, so that's coming out soon too.
You may find it odd for me to dwell on the SQ4 project since it didn't get very far, but people had questions about it, and there's material in here that sets up the next episode as well. That's the big one coming up.

I know I'm just one viewer, but your Space Quest IV series is, in my view, some of your best work. The character you portray fits perfectly with the feel of the game, and it's honestly the best Let's Play of Space Quest IV I've seen on RUclips. I don't think the sprite issue is as big of a deal at the Galaxy Galeria mall, and seeing your character navigate Estros with the Sequel Police on your tail would be entertaining. I don't think the "homework problem" theme would have to go away completely, you could just scale it back or find an in-game motivation to discontinue it, like you did with constantly monitoring the score. In any case, I hope you do end up reviving the series.
Thanks for the kind words, Micah. Sorry for replying so late. This project is on hold right now because I have other things on my plate, but who knows, maybe I could return to it one day.
ever since i discovered your channel 11 or 12 years ago, back when youtube had the old channel layout, project redpants was one of those upcoming wip series teased on the right banner or whatever it was called
