Oh wow I never thought of using a heat mat for my neps. Great idea I'll have to try it.

Had one outside, she was fed tap water here in SoCal and no other special care. She lived 7 years till a 115 °F heat wave killed her whilst I was out of town.

I'm so excited I just ordered mine (size M for $18 lol, but I don't live in USA). I got a mini greenhouse and LED lights for it since I don't have a grow tent 🥺 let's hope it works!!! Thanks for the tips on how to care for it

I bought it sometime in 2017. I remember it was while I worked at a forest preserve but I can’t remember where I even ordered it from.

How you solve a high humidity problem? I don't see any humifider inside. I would be appreciate because I want to copy Your Growbox idea:)

    • @TheBonsaiJungle

I keep them standing in a pan of shallow water (about 1/2 inch of water) and keep that on the heat mat with the tent zipped shut. They will eventually acclimate to lower humidity levels and this will be enough for them.

I appreciate the effort, this is just way too much setup for a nep for me though. I'll stick to my basic $5 ventratas I guess

challenge yourself bro. The meaning of life is to become God, so you need to push yourself to every limit possible every day. Then when you finally have driven yourself to know everything you will know how to fix all the problems in your life. Become a nursery owner, an artist, a scientist, and a horse trainer all at once while studying the esoteric mysteries on the side. Also you should do all of this while smoking marijuana every day, imagine what kind of challenge that is. Then we can talk about getting six pack abs. You are going to have to become the perfect human to escape the matrix brother.

      FADE IN:
      EXT. PARK - DAY
Two friends, HELIX and CHRIS, sit on a bench in the park. Helix is staring off into space while Chris is busy scrolling through his phone.
      HELIX
Hey man, what's up? You've been quiet this whole time.
      CHRIS
      (sighing)
I don't know, man. I just feel like I'm not living up to my potential. Like there's something more out there for me.
      HELIX
      (smiling)
That's because there is, bro. You just need to challenge yourself.
      CHRIS
      (skeptical)
      What do you mean?
      HELIX
The meaning of life is to become God, so you need to push yourself to every limit possible every day. Then when you finally have driven yourself to know everything you will know how to fix all the problems in your life.
      CHRIS
      (rolling his eyes)
How am I supposed to do that?
      HELIX
You need to become a nursery owner, an artist, a scientist, and a horse trainer all at once while studying the esoteric mysteries on the side.
      CHRIS
      (still skeptical)
      Is that all?
      HELIX
      (chuckling)
No, you should also do all of this while smoking marijuana every day. Imagine what kind of challenge that is.
      CHRIS
      (shaking his head)
I don't know about that, man.
      HELIX
      (leaning in)
Trust me, bro. Then we can talk about getting six pack abs. You are going to have to become the perfect human to escape the matrix, brother.
      CHRIS
      (smiling)
I don't know about all of that, but I'll definitely start with the six pack abs.
      HELIX
      (laughing)
      That's the spirit!
      FADE OUT.

From your experience would white led light or purple led light be better for nepenthes?

    • @TheBonsaiJungle
      @TheBonsaiJungle  2 года назад +1

They seemed to put on better growth when I had them under white light. I did however have the humidity really high in my previous set up though, basically a large closed “chameleon cantina” terrarium
