It's a good set to start. Can always buy a small cast iron from Murdock or even Walmart, season it at home, and take that with you. I'm not sure how strong the burner is, but if it can hold up a higher quality pan/pot, I feel like this set is perfect for a quick, short term buy that can last much longer with love
I picked up the lidl camping stuff this summer, cook pans, gas burner &4cans of gas,a lantern, 2tin mugs & a full tang knife. Total €120. I can cook a fry up & fresh coffee in 25 minutes. And the pans had fold around handles & all stacked lids & all, in a net bag.
@@NewEnglandOutdoorAdventures Same as mine, Chinese light waight stuff. But it's nonstick, so far, so good. No point being exposed stuff. I don't go camping anymore, but it's nice when you want to go for a drive & have something to eat & a coffee, in the wood or by a lake. I must get some dog food cans & make a wind brake. And the knife isn't too bad on keeping an edge either. Considering it on cost €8.50.
It now costs $26.99. I picked up a similar set (same pot, lid, and fry pan) that included a tea kettle and small stainless steel cup, but did not include the burner or any implements at Hobby Lobby for $12.49 (originally $49.99, I know ridiculous). A good point to keep in mind about burning in the center. It makes sense since that is where the heat from the burner flame is concentrated. There is not enough metal to disperse the heat. A more even heat distribution would require a cast iron disk (or a better burner).
That’s a good price. Excellent point about the flame being concentrated in the center. I have a friend that bought one and burned a hole right through the center. They serve their purpose for the price you pay but they’re not meant for longevity.

I love this kit. Inexpensive and comes with everything you need.
do the metal utensils scratch up the non stick coating?
They will if you press too hard
@@NewEnglandOutdoorAdventures Too bad they didn't provide hard plastic ones instead...thanks.
