We don’t have this particular brand but we did just buy a brand new competitors version and it’s all around a very handy machine. Doesn’t haul as much as a 30 ton off road truck but can get places and do things they can’t.
Some quick cycle time on them. Doing no damage to the ground. Super bit of kit. I wonder how long a set of tracks will last. I think I need 1 of these
I was informed that the particular brand we purchased only has a 3,500 hour undercarriage.
@@dirtschwa4233 it gets expensive to run at that rate. Prob 20k for a carriage for her
@@mahercontractors9168 that price has been talked about as well. Last I heard it’s 13,000 for the replacement parts for the 3,500 hour undercarriage overhaul
It's the perfect set-up for autonomous dump trucks on a worksite. The excavator operator could manage the trucks while filling them.

I would love to see an operational cost analysis and efficiency comparison with a conventional of same carrying capacity. Lot of factors to contend with. Fuel consumption, maintenance and downtime, distance of operations and damage to ground/roads encountered.
I love it as a utilitarian site and specifically as l duty but need more data to compare as they upsize the concept to mining scale.
You simply wouldn’t use one of these where you’d use a conventional truck. It should be a case of not being able to do anything with wheeled trucks so you use one of these instead. As you say though there are a lot of factors involved. The most important thing is that operators are trained to properly use them as you will cause excessive track damage and wear unless they are utilised correctly.

Look like a good machine on the right job ie soft ground where turning a loaded ADT around before reversing to tip would cause massive ground damage and increase the chance of getting stuck however I’m sure these come at a premium price tag so they are likely to be more of a specialist contractor machine

What's the loading capacity in tons? I wonder how much maintenance and how long the lifespan of the swing bearing will be, they look effective but there's always 2 sides of a coin.
Wouldn't be too worried about it. You will easily get 15000 hours out of a swing bearing in an excavator and this is probably even balanced compared to an excavator.

Does the time saved for not turning is more than the reduced load capacity due to the weight of the turning mechanism?
It is not about time saving it is about not messing up the ground an get stuck when they turn around.

Ye thats the concern I have.
They'd probably have a longer track life than you'd think, because the cab and dump body swing, it takes away the need to do u turns, sharp turning and probably won't pick up as much dirt as say what bulldozers tracks might, as these are designed for places where you wouldn't normally be able to turn other larger machines around in. So I imagine they wouldn't take shit loads of abuse.
@@bigmario768 agree but many smaller worksites where these would shine there can be many 90 degree turns or more.
But you could allways prep the turns a little.

@@tvoiaDysha бак справа от кабины, как на эксковаторе, дым современные дизели не пускают, ( это не старый КамАЗ) , да и 3 тысячи оборотов дизелю не дают.
