Wow. There is alot going on. Im glad you told your story. I have been battleing foot pain for 10+ years. I have adult acquired flat feet. Visibly no arch at all.
My story is simlair to yours, drs are oblivious no one could tell me whats wrong with me and why I always have excruciating pain in my feet. I ended up getting reconstructive foot surgery to build my arch back in my right foot. Everything healed great and the Drs said they have never seen a better surgery. The thing is I still have the same pain as before.
So fast forward a few years seeing every specialist I could think of and trying everything. The new dr. diagnosed me with (PTTD) posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. The treatment for it, AFOs. Wish they told me that before they ripped my foot open🙄 I have olny had them for 3 days now and im still breaking them in, but Im hopefull and I think it is supporting my feet way more. Im anxious to see if my pain levels change. Its been rough working jobs that are always on your feet. You are probably aware of how hard it is to find a good paying gig thats not on your feet and you can keep your sanity and not loose your mind seeing the same 4 walls everyday.

I never understood the feeling bad for you thing. I WANT AFOs instead of my bulky ankle braces that don’t fit. The braces just allow you to run and be happy, it’s a good thing not a bad thing.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well with your AFOs. It must have been trying having so many people messing with r feet for such a long period of time. (haha). Hope you're not too stir crazy from the quarentine.

Hi remember me well my feed lay on the Side so my feet are never flat so I can not stand up and I only got them because my teacher told the foot guy that I need to have them my feet would go extremely cold and I was painful sometimes but I am going to tell you what the foot guy said after 10 years of seeing me and now getting AFO’S so we walking to get casted and he says “gosh yes you should of had these a long time ago” so I said “why didn’t you give “me them his reply as followed“Well we didn’t think you needed them just special boots”?? At this point we were kind of mad but we did it anyway then it turns out they couldn’t do the casting because apparently my “leg was too long” and they didn’t have the right materials so I had to wait another two months to get them I don’t know whether I told you the story before? Anyway I hope I see improvements in my experience with them. Stay safe ❤️

Love your videos. My journey has been progressing similarly with EDS, having to use a wheelchair at 16 when walking long distances such as when my band from school went to Disney, having chondromalacia in my knees, and now arch problems. I'm getting my first orthotics in a week. Hoping they help!

I see you are in the USA , in your country doctor alway said WAIT AND SEE , mostly for scoliosis, why ? Simply because the scoliosis will get worst then you will need a 700,000 $ surgery, so because in USA thé healthcare is business, doctor will alway tell wait and see , same for hypermobile joint , braces will prevent injury, so because doctor rarely prescribe braces , you will eventually get an injury that you go to the business of your healthcare.
Here in Quebec we have universal healthcare, so the hospitals or doctors make no money to say wait and see, so they will prescribe braces to prevent injury, and you know what, our braces are totally free …
So for me I have braces since toddler . And now i’m 55 , I have kafo from young age then HKAFO since many many years , also back brace .
