Maybe about an inch if you inflate the bags unloaded. May make a video later of some of the travel and setup of the airbags. I usually just try to keep the ride height slightly higher than stock.
@@craigsnowden around town I keep them deflated. Putting people in the back about 10psi. Towing the boat or the utility trailer about 20psi and towing the camper with all the gear sometimes up to 30. Just don't exceed the limit of the bags! I usually go by visual wheel gap!
Have a 2012 TD a sportwagen. Planning to get a class one hitch installed on my car. Looking to move cross country with the smallest U-Haul. With this kit work for me?
If your towing that much across country I'd recommend a better hitch than a class one. I like the torklift so far as you can see in another one of my videos. The air bags deffinetely help disperse some of the road and make for a better ride but you deffinetely don't wanna overload anything.
I use a regular compressor for filling my tires that I have in the car anyway. I usually run 20-30psi for heavy loads and run them at about 5 for day to day driving. I've never tried filling with a hand pump. While possible it'd probably just take a while.
The upper plastic shim has a recess where it sits in the top of the air shock. The weight of the car compressing the spring will hold the piece in place once assembled. I still recommend them. I've towed probably three dozen times and loaded up the car a lot and it was well worth the investment for me. Zero issues with the system so far. May work on an update video.
@@diytito8165 put them in yesterday and they went in kinda easy, didn't even lower the control arm. took some work but I compressed it and put it right through the springs.I did realize a small lift when inflated, I only installed to prevent my tires from rubbing so its good so far.
@@dkingphotographi7160 I just ordered a set a air bags and plan on installing them on my 2013 TDI Jetta Sportwagen.. If you had to do it again would you recommend installing w/o control arm removal?
Have a 2011 JSW and I’m installing Tiguan springs this weekend. I’ll get these bags too, thanks for the video!
Thanks, huge help to me on my 2013 JSW.
Do you have an updated review?
Just an FYI. That nuts torque spec is 70Nm + 180 degree turn.
A mk6 jetta se is a solid rear axle I'm thinking springs are very similar though.
Thanks
Grab a can of silicone spray and they’ll slide in without removing the coils. Still a pita, but saves time.
Amazing
Thanks for vid. Any lift out of kit compared to stock?

the link to Amazon says " Air Lift 80753 Air Lift 1000 Front Air Spring Kit " ?? it is the same one you used for the rear springs??
Yes this is the same one! You can see in some of the answered questions and reviews that they work well for the back of the JSW. Still working great!
@@diytito8165 what psi do you set it at and do you alter it when towing?

Just installed a set. Happy so far.
after drilling the hole you should of used some paint so it wont start rusting from the drill bit making the hole...
that's good intel honestly.
Any idea what the length/width of the bag
Don’t forget an alignment.

How much psi do you run in these loaded and unloaded? Do you use a hand pump when filling and is it recommended over compressor air?

What holds the upper plastic shim in place? Also would you still recommend them?

@@diytito8165 thanks for the quick reply.
Are the springs different for the wagon, compared to the Jetta S?
I'm not sure but the Jetta wagen is based on the golf chassis so I'd check on the forums.
