    When he bashed in that cinder block it occurred to me how many people had their brains bashed in by an angry Russian with an empty Mosin-Nagant.

    • @SimplePhill

    • @headkills117

    • @acdczeppelinhalen1
      @acdczeppelinhalen1 10 лет назад +34

      Military guns are robust. We have a K98 and its is heavy. The recoil isn't that bad because it is so heavy, even though its shooting an 8mm. It could easily do some damage if used as a club.

    • @doapSauce
      @doapSauce 10 лет назад +7

      you need some guns. or like at least hold one or two. that would answer if it would hurt to get beat with a gun

      Aye, recoil dispersion is part of why older, higher caliber rifles are so heavy.

      ***** You haven;t been looking hard enough. Once and awhile CheaperThanDirt gets in surplus, Greek-made, .303 British rounds that were stashed away in an ammo bunker. Each case of surplus comes with anywhere from 450 to 480 rounds for about the same price that 54R spam cans go for. The plus side is that the Surplus greek-made rounds are made with brass casings, so that means you can reload it and make it last even longer.

      JTelli786 I feel your pain....we have 85 acers and used to shoot all our WW2 guns all the time. I own the Mosin M44 carbine, British lee Enfield No. 4, Mauser kar98 and the M1A1 carbine. Unfortunately Do to the dumb ass economy growing....stupid dumb asses built neighborhoods all around our property literally ALL around our surrounding property where we can shoot anymore because of safety reasons...here in alabama you can shoot how ever much you want if your out of the city limits and the cops told us we can still shoot and won't get im trouble but it's just to dangerous now. We're looking into making a small range with a HUGE and WIDE dirt mound but haven't got to it yet.....my trigger finger is missing it also. They have all be hanging on my walls in my living room for about a year now😢

      Krasni Ubica in insergency I take this gun over the AK 74 and people are surprises when a dude is running at them with a bolt action rifle. M16s don't kill me, but one mosin shot to the face is letal

    • @WorkInProgressX
      @WorkInProgressX 7 лет назад +2

      Spartan Bacon well anything straight to the face is deadly. A mosin has the advantage of a more powerful cartridge compared to assault rifles or pistos(duh)

    • @dongambino5308
      @dongambino5308 6 лет назад +1

      An M16 5.56 was made to break in the body and be lethal, don't underestimate a 5.56 but at the same time I also agree that the mosin has a far better cartridge

    • @user-wz2ey1ko8v
      @user-wz2ey1ko8v 6 лет назад

      Don Gambino more powerful doesn’t mean better, there’s a reason they ditched the 7.62 m14 battle rifle and made the 5.56 M16 and still use the same cartridge today, it goes much faster and has better range, and less recoil

    • @dongambino5308
      @dongambino5308 6 лет назад

      Zak O'Neill I agree but in my opinion I think a 7.62 or a 8mm has a bit more stopping power, I know that the 5.56 has a retarded speed velocity but I feel like the stopping power of the 8mm or 7.62 is something that's underrated. I think arguing doesn't mean much until we see three humans all shot with a 5.56, 7.62 and 8mm. Which I doubt we'll ever see so we don't truly know the stopping power I also think at the end of the day a chunk of led regardless of size and speed will still put a nice hole in someone

      +1weck1 Lmfao I know man. I just left a comment saying the same thing. They are awesome videos but I was getting depressed seeing such a nice gun just get fucked! I love these videos though because they show you what the WWII weapons were really capable of. And I don't know much about buying Mosins but I do know there are some companies that make modern reproductions of them that aren't expensive at all. I mean an original that was made from the late 30's to 1945 would run you a shitload of money but you can find modern ones for a real good price. I mean check this site out. They have the real deal (modern but in 7.62x54 caliber) for $169.99
      www.cabelas.com/product/Mosin-Nagant-Model-Rifle/710007.uts
      I mean thats fucking crazy! .22 rifles in my local Walmart cost more. I would think its some sort of a ripoff but it has multiple reviews and a average of 4.8 stars! And I just checked Gunbroker.com too and they currently have tons of Mosin Nagants listed for sale with a few at $239.95! Dude I may have to grab one of these for myself too with you! I mean, I could afford that which kind of blows my mind!

    About 4 years ago I somehow got it into my head that I wanted a bolt action, vintage combat rifle and my budget was tight. I went into a local gun shop and the Mausers and M-14s were out of my price range. The salesman showed me a Mosin, which I'd never heard of and I purchased it for $140. I cleaned off the Cosmoline and tricked it out a tiny bit with a velcro ammo pouch on it, removed the iron sight and put on a cheap scope. I actually enjoy its quirks (e.g. the "sticky bolt") but I don't shoot well with it. At the range my 100 yard group was bout 6-8 inches and I shoot about 1.5 inches with my AR with iron sights. I think I'll put the iron sights back on and give another try. The armory mark is Izhvest (spelling?) 1943 so it's really likely that it was used in WW2 and great to think that it blew some nazi straight to hell.
