Baptists in the West are known as people of the BOOK and also for their hearty singing. But please get fellow believers to listen to the choirs of Mizoram India they will all be surprised at the high standard and passion in the presentation. Mizoram is 90% Evangelical Christian and they are so sincere in the faith as was taught to them by Baptist and Presbyterian Missionaries more than a 100 years ago.

English Translation Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love. Sorrowing I shall be in spirit, Till released from flesh and sin, Yet from what I do inherit, Here Thy praises I'll begin; Here I raise my Ebenezer; Here by Thy great help I’ve come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood; How His kindness yet pursues me Mortal tongue can never tell, Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me I cannot proclaim it well. O to grace how great a debtor Daily I’m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above. O that day when freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face; Clothed then in blood washed linen How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace; Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, Take my ransomed soul away; Send thine angels now to carry Me to realms of endless day.
"Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it Prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above" Amen

This BCM choir was disbanded in 2019 the same year I got to know them on YOU Tube. I still play many of their videos as all the choristers are very talented and committed and I consider this group to be one of the best in Mizoram. Am I right in assuming that this choir was replaced by BCM 2019-2022. I often wander what happens to these talented and trained young people when their term expires do they continue singing in their local church choirs.
We northeast indian tribals from Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram has a traditional way of following "Youth are the pillar of the Nation or the Tribe" that's why we the youth takes part in Churches or in Village level works. The youth is the hand and the leg for the Village chief too. In churches we also fixed or select the choir for a specified years so after they completed their choir mission a new and young girls and boys came to replace them again and some of the old choir members may become the teacher or instructor of the choir again. That way we carry on the legacy of our forefather. Thank you.
@@totoitekelcha7628 Thanks for your reply as I so much want to find out why your churches are well attended by young people and are very active in the church and community. Your forefathers were very wise indeed for including youth in every aspect of the tribal and community life as it ensured that respect and Godly values were passed on to each generation. I viewed many videos of your region and I am impressed by the discipline and commitment displayed in all activities be it the church or school or secular. Teaching children sound values start in the home with fathers and this continues in the school where they are taught to be proud of their nation and respect their history. This is normal in your part of the world but in some parts of the West the very name of God is excluded in the schools. May you continue with the legacy left by your forefathers as it works
@@vincemervyn6834 Let me tell you some of our little custom too, basically our tradition is very much based on village level because our forefather have no king or queen instead we have village chiefs in which we gave him a high regard like kings and queen. If in a village there lives a widow or a man who lost his wife than that widow is exempted from all the village tax and village social activities which every household has the obligation to do. Even though our forefathers were non-believers they sympathise the widows and orphans by helping them with food and cloths where ever they can. And also if someone from a village is passed away or death, every villagers must leaves their work and attend the deceased family, also every villager youth especially male has the obligation to dig the grave and some female youth will serves us with tea and sweets and the remaining female youth must serves or attend the deceased family too because its a must and we will console the bereaved family for about 3 to 4 nights by singing church songs that's the rule of law in our culture. That way we just developed the sense of social obligation from our childhood. Even though I am 35 yrs old and there are so many younger generation youth out there I cannot resist or disobey the social obligation especially when it comes to mourning of the death. English is not my first language and you will find it hard to read but I tried my best to convey small traditions of us to you. Sorry for typing mistake too. Thank you

English Translation
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,

Yet from what I do inherit,
Here Thy praises I'll begin;
Here I raise my Ebenezer;

And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood;
How His kindness yet pursues me
Mortal tongue can never tell,
Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
I cannot proclaim it well.
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.
very good, If this song is translated in every language so that every nation can sing and see Gods grace, it will be much better
