- In this Real Auto Reports, Real First Impressions Video edition we take a quick look at the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T MAX All-Wheel Drive (AWD). This Dodge Charger R/T represents the return of the muscle car and in the re-designed body from 2011 it really makes an impression. Even more rare it seems in today's full-size sedan landscape is the HEMI V8 engine putting out 370-hp.
At almost $40,000 the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T MAX AWD is not a cheap car, but it is also the top of its range and has features that you would expect to find on higher-end German and Japanese competitors like BMW, Mercedes, Acura and Infiniti. The MAX package creates a luxurious option set and a competitive price point in the full-size sedan market.
Join us as we look at the Real First Impressions of the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T including the features and experiences that really captured our attention right off the bat.

Well many years later, I got a 12 awd and it’s still just as awesome as new! The awd is great in the winter, but it eats tires even with no burnouts. A 50k miles example still goes for 22-25k. I got mine before the prices jumped for 14k and will drive it into the ground.
Same had mine since 14 love it
Glad you love it. We think it is a pretty good buy too!
I'm an owner of this same model car and I absolutely love it . It's got awesome power to boot and feels extremely safe with the awd . It's also a fantastic deal . Again , I love this car !
would love this car!
Hi jjlwis, The 2013 R/T doesn't have the 8-speed yet. Personally, we are not big fans of the 8-speed and the V6. The V6 is a great motor, but the 8-speed still needs some refining. This is a great car for the money and has a lot of features you pay 10-15K or more for in other brands for smaller cars. Dodge has done an excellent job. The other car we like and feel similarly about is the Nissan Maxima. The '09 was a huge step forward.
Love mine!!!
@jjlwis, apologies for the tardy reply on this one...we were traveling a bit lately. This 2013 is the Pitch Black or Gloss Black Non-Metallic.
my mom just bought the exact same kind and it is the best car in the world
@Dusty Spears, you probably saw that our host owns the Charger in the video. Obviously it is loved and a great car. The point for classic Mopar fans is that this would technically have been a different model name in the past - the Coronet - a model that was offered in two and four-doors with the same drivetrains and basic body structure of the Charger which was only ever a two-door. However, every re-design concept since the '90s has featured 4-doors because people remember Charger, not Coronet.
I had a quick question pertaining to the reliability rating on this car, I just wanted to know why it was rated 2.5/5. Thanks
What's the tint percentage
also, best review of the best car so far! I can't wait to get mine! but i'll have to wait and see about that 8 speed transmission
I remember the first '68 Charger I saw at the dealer...red with a blk vinyl roof. 318 automatic. The Charger was marketed as a personal luxury car, like a Monte Carlo or Thunderbird. I'll bet a new V6 Charger would kick it's ass, and be more comfortable doing it.
@TheAbstrak237, why do you say this isn't a family car? We would be interested in your perspective for our future Real Updates (the long term test reviews) on the Charger.
Jon- does this have the new 8 speed transmission? hows the car so far on gas? any issues?
true about the spoiler. It is not functional and imho this looks better
the R/T is the V8 road and track version
But I do love the inside
It doesn't look aggressive, all the new charges look like they should have been the new impalas
i have the 2013 dodge charger hemi i have the red interior i fail inlove with the chargers when my boyfriend bought me the 2006 dodge charger with the hemi i had to get him to get me this car love it
A charger is a mans car women!, get your lil'self in a Kia lol...j/k
504girl7 mines is add blue with black interior
waiting on the review of the charger
Jon what color is this?
I saw it in the latest episode of Grimm ^_^ They were using it as an unmarked police car.
SRT = Street Racing Technology & the number "8" For the celenders .
Your intonations make you sound like John Malkovitch.
I thought rt meant racing technology
Race and Track.
R/T = Road & Track...
And engine
so whats the purpose of a car having 4 doors?
R/T Originally stood for Rapid Transit... But it got bastardized over the decades to Road and Track... and other name..
Not a family car dude.
Challenger #1, charger barely looks like a muscle car, they shoulda went more retro like the challenger.
dodo
Nope. Road/Track
It doesn't look aggressive all the new chargers look like they should be the new impalas, no bulk no muscle, I own a 08 model check it out
AWD on a "modern muscle" car. Lol, what's next? Hybridization? I'll put a winning power ball ticket on it. Dodge is indeed that stupid.
