I am not religious myself, but I was raised in a mixed Christian family, with multiple sects of Christianity represented. I have also read the bible three times myself. It's funny how different reactions you have from this Matthew Vaughn film from the last one you did, X-Men: First Class. A lot of the same team, (like composer Henry Jackman) all came back to make another Mark Millar comic adaptation (previous one was the first Kick-Ass movie). This movie was breath of fresh air, and was based on comic, and made it better... But the sequels are completely new content, which a lot of people have different reactions too...
You mentioning Henry Jackman reminded me of a certain track that was used in the Kingsman sequel. It was such an awesome track when I heard it in Kingsman 2, punctuated the scene, but it always stuck with me why it sounded familiar. When I looked up the track from the score, turns out it was used in the "point between rage and serenity" scene between Xavier and Magneto in First Class!
Another Taron Egerton film to enjoy is "Eddie the Eagle", a cool running style film about the most famous British ski jumper, funny enough at the 88 winter Olympics too

I saw this movie before and only from reading the name of the video I immediately pictured the shocked face of Jen when they had to shoot their dogs and Holden imagining himself and Boston in that scenario... I still would have loved to see your reaction to the ending scene with Eggsy in the pub confronting his stepfather/mothers boyfriend.
Surprised you didn't include the credit cut scene with Eggsy back at the pub with his mom! Regardless great movie and by far the best of the series so far, this one just had that perfect formula that's missing in the others.
I love the Kingsman movies, watched them all less than a month ago for the first time and immediately watched them all through again, simply extraordinary movies in my opinion!
Actually, Eggsy should've figured it out, they wouldn't have him actually kill the dog. Every single task, wherein it looked as though someone was going to die, they wouldn't have. The only exception being the first one, escaping the flooding barracks. Extrapolating on that list of experiences, the odds favored JB would be fine. Still, if one is a half second slow on the uptake, it's a bit mean to have to shoot one's much beloved pet.
Yeah that part of the film made no sense and took me out of it. Kingsman is supposed to be about being a gentleman and manners. Shooting a dog is just about the furthest from that. I would have thought the way to pass the test would NOT to shoot the dog.

Loved this movie the way it’s shot is just pure perfection along with the cast’s amazing acting this is in my top 10 …..but the 2nd has one of the best moments I’ll just say this ..country roads take me home 😁 and there’s now 3 of these but the 3rd is a prequel about how the kingsmen started well worth the watch
In regards to the movie taking a classic genre and twisting it enough to feel fresh the whole time, I think a big part of that has to do with the fact that the "spy story" is something that sort of takes place in the background throughout. It's a major part of the plot through the whole movie after the prologue, but the movie itself primarily focuses on Eggsy and his tests to get into the Kingsmen, as well as his relationship with Harry. The scene in the church is so effective because it's not only a perfect "rug pull" moment, but it's also an emotional blow to the protagonist, which isn't something we're normally prepared for in a spy thriller.
Fun little detail when you find out Arthur is with valentine and eggsy switches the glasses pay attention to the liquid and its swiveling in the glasses
If this is right up your alley, I'd love to see you react to my all time favorite movie Spy (2015). Very similar in that it's a modern over the top comedic spy movie. Loving the reactions, can't wait for the next.
I had to stop eating my cereal out of amazement when that skillshare ad started. I was just glued to the screen lol. I now definitely want Holden to do an entire series of Bob Ross videos where he teaches me things, or just talks about things, or whatever. I don't care.

Many got thrown for a loop upon realizing that it was based on an comic-book series. Written by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and drawn by Dave Gibbons (Watchmen). To most people, this was just a spy film that parodied the genre. But not quite like Austin Powers or Johnny English. It has so many tones into making it a fun film. Matthew Vaughn made the screen adaptation of Kick-Ass (2010) into some greatness. Proving that comic-book movies don't have to hold back anything.
I can since that this really entertained Jen based on how detailed she was in her breakdown of the film at the end. It was good to hear her detailed thoughts.

to me, the part where eggsy is fighting gazelle and she is spinning her legs while baby its ok plays , is my favorite scene and i keep coming back to it just to relive how much exciment i felt watching it the first time, with my mouth wide open.

I sat behind Sofia Botella when I watched this opening night in LA. The group of girls cheered like crazy when her credit came up at the end. It was her first really big movie and she kicked ass.
Ha ha, literally just watched this. When finished, went back to the TV, flicking channels, guess whats just started….now to watch the full movie, including the mid credit that’s been missed here.
I liked this video because of the skill share ad. Idk how much they pay Holden for this but its not enough. This was better than all the ads in the superbowl this year

The one thing I didn’t like about this movie was the dog twist. In an organization like Hydra in Agents of Shield it makes sense that they would want cold blooded killers, but not here really. The first lesson they were taught was that your team comes first, so I would think the test would be to not shoot the dog, because your team comes before your own ambitions.
but the whole threat of the movie is mind control and if merlin asked him to kill his partner would he do it? no, well then i cant trust you in the field.
Another fun fact. Samuel L Jackson said he had a stutter as a kid, which is where the idea came from. He felt he was dismissed as a kid, which helped him excell, and he thought it would be cool that Valentine went through the same thing.

Jason Statham was the BEST part of that movie lmao, he needs to do more comedic roles like that. Would love to see a spin off of his character.

The one thing I didn’t like about this movie was the dog twist. In an organization like Hydra in Agents of Shield it makes sense that they would want cold blooded killers, but not here really. The first lesson they were taught was that your team comes first, so I would think the test would be to not shoot the dog, because your team comes before your own ambitions.
but the whole threat of the movie is mind control and if merlin asked him to kill his partner would he do it? no, well then i cant trust you in the field.
Technically there are 3 of them: Secret Service, Golden Circle, King's Man, and they're all brilliantly done
