It's hard to mimic Hwasa's voice and these girls did their absolute best to perform her songs. The thing is, most of them are leaning to a nasal sound rather than a mix of being husky and sultry which is why it is easy to guess Hwasa base from the way she pronounce the lyrics.

Maybe it's also bcoz of the edited studio version of the girls voices but they sounded like they're forcing air out of their vocals which makes them more stand out rather than blending in with Hwasa's tone. I'm tone deaf (like for real LOL, that's why I rarely listen to music, never heard a Mamamoo song before, only watching this cos I'm a Hwasa fan from her variety shows) and suck at this kind of show usually, but I got every single round right. I think it may have been a production choice so that she gets to stay in all the rounds or something.

But here's the thing, what we need to understand is that it is very easy for us who are watching through a screen but experiencing it live like the artists and audiences in this program is a whole another different level which is why they find it difficult. For us watching behind the screen nuances like echoes, white noise, statics, and friction noises whatever the case may be are filtered out or balanced well enough for TV thus we can easily point out who is who, whereas during lives the people present in the show do not have that same luxury.
Exactly we don't have a pressure for guessing it right so we have a greater focus on the singers. But if i was in the audience I'd be struggling too especially because I'll be nervous
I was sure I would guess her right every time, but the computer I use doesn't have studio quality sound, so it made it difficult! I have heard her live and it's unbelievably beautiful!

Imagine how the production team had to auditioned many talented singers to be in this show. I bet not many singers have skill to mimic other artists, but this is very good.

the thing about Hwasa is her voice is uncomparable to anyone. Not really update about kpop songs, checked and listen to mamamoo and other groups sometimes... tbh maybe because you used to really listen to her, but for people who didn't really update & only casual listeners, the girls in number 1 and 4 have similar distinctive voice and singing accent with Hwasa. Even the girl in number 1, really thought if she was Hwasa. Btw yeah Hwasa and other Mamamoo girls have matured type voices like a professional vocal trainers especially Hwasa. Also the girls in here tho, they sound fine...but k-pop rarely interesting in strong & mature type voices

She really did. I got the first two rounds easily but I was torn between 2 (girl with white shorts) and 3 (hwasa) for round three lol. She had me fooled there
A lot of these hidden singer shows I can get a bit confused but this solidified just how unique Hwasa’s voice is. I was easily able to pinpoint Hwasa in every round even with my horrible hearing. Hwasa has such a unique sound and such unique soul in her singing. It’s unmistakable. So glad she is a singer 🥰
I feel like the mimics really picked out the distinct key points of Hwasa's singing style well. But more subtle characteristics lacked, like the way they pronounced words or like for Decalcomanie they seemed a little bit shy when singing
It was easy spotting Hwasa but ngl, all the impersonators were amazing! They were able to impersonate elements of Hwasa's voice like the vocal fry and the roughness of her voice. Honestly, I feel like if I weren't a fan, I would have a hard time. But Hwasa's tone is just too unique
I'm a moomoo and i had a SUPER HARD TIME trying to figure out her real voice, I've barely made it through and i listen to her daily. Just wanted to share this in case someone had difficulty too bc I've seen a lot of comments about getting them right. I think you're all just gifted lol. & The all singers honestly did a great job.
They’re all super gifted. I think I also had an easier time because & could differentiate Hwasa’s pronunciation - she has a distinct way she pronounces english words

I think it's because Hwasa's trademark is the breathy/moany technique that a lot of people forget her just simply singing is unique in itself. I forgot which round it was but they all tried to mimic the way she sang and had noticeable breaths/moans and Hwasa was the only one who just sang normally and her voice stood out as it was lol Yes, Hwasa's voice is husky- but most importantly it's super powerful so as a MM I could tell in an instant 🤗❤

I was confused at the first round between the 1st and 2nd contestant, but for the 2nd and 3rd round i got it right! So happy to be able to recognize hwasa's unique voice. But all of the contestants did a very good job, they're amazing as well 😉

Everyone were good but tbh, its hard to do Hwasa's voice. That's why imo, Hwasa's voice is the most unique. She developed her own singing style after years of singing.
I listen to Mamamoo so much that even my husband knew. He was so angry when the audience got it wrong lol he was like, "Do they even listen to her?! How could you not tell?!"

You definitely can know hwasa's voice if you listen her too much.. ypu definiteley can distinct her voice from others eventhought you hv same tone same vocal style... hwasa's voice is different.

I was confused at the first round between the 1st and 2nd contestant, but for the 2nd and 3rd round i got it right! So happy to be able to recognize hwasa's unique voice. But all of the contestants did a very good job, they're amazing as well 😉

The one with the short pink hair is actually a former idol. She was the main vocalist of Rania from 2011 to 2014. Her name is Jooyi. She now goes by the stage name Cosmic Girl and is one of Mamamoos producers and also releases solo music.
Everyone were good but tbh, its hard to do Hwasa's voice. That's why imo, Hwasa's voice is the most unique. She developed her own singing style after years of singing.

Bruv, you can’t copy Hwasa’s voice or nuances perfectly. It was awesome how well they tried though. Love this. Only been a Moomoo for less than year and I can tell already.
I knew which one was her every round, the other girls were phenomenal but you can tell Hwasa’s voice esp if you’re moomoo! This was fun I’m glad I got it right every time

Hwasa is an amazing singer with a very unique voice. All the other ladies are equally good singers and did so well. I hope they get more opportunities in the future to sing and show their talent.
