@@killerj6925 It still works - you have to wear the item and sell it in the classic view via button.
The gheeds reduces the repurchase cost not increases sales,
the hawkeye prefix also provides attack rating based on character level but isn't profitable afaik.
small table i've been making up searching :
Grinding ancient sword : 24,936 profit (14% gheed lvl 87, 35k sale)
Fools rune bow : 20,920 profit (14% gheed, charsi, lvl 87, 34,816 sale)
Fool's Naga : 20,477 profit (13% gheed, lvl 96, 32,498 sale)
Grinding great maul of might: 15,791 profit (13% gheed, lvl 96, 21,611 sale)
Grinding short war bow : 12,398 profit (13% gheed, lvl 96, 16,467 sale)
Just for people to know. This works perfectly on console, and if you buy the item from the vendor it still works, at least on console. Since you have a sell button, you don't need the old graphics trick.

Any idea if this item can be found in nm act 1 ? like its easier to find at lvl 45 as shop item ilvl is char +5 and areat summet says its an afex of ilvl 50.

I tried this and couldn't get it to work at first. First off you have to be in Hell or Nightmare else you will loose money. The affix Hawkeye doesn't change the price at all. Some throwing weapon and bows you loose money.
I suggest you buy/sell items to Fara in act 2, where you have the extra 10% price reduction for doing Radament's quest.
didn't seem like Vendor Price increases or Reduction had any effect. I tested with and without the 50% bonus during the black friday 22 nights of terror, and with and witout Gheeds. there seem to be no change in value.
I think the glitch might be exclusive from any kind of increase percentages.
Charsi is the lowest
@@user-gh3jx2yf1r gheeds also does effect the value you repurchase the item at. edge bow does too but that seems tedious to use switching weapons every sale.

I might investigate this later but could this effect be duplicated just by pressing control left click 🤔 instead of the sell feature in classic
no it won't sell the item at all with the hotkey if you have it equipped

It works on consoles, consoles has a sell directly from hand button.
That's what you do, equip the item to your hand going to the shop select your weapon slot and there's a hold X button or hold y button to sell.
That works, a couple other people in the comments have confirmed it as well
Finally if my merc dies i wont feel so awful.

I bet a person can find a Exceptional Item of it and start with a fairly low lvl char. I only think of this as I play hc and I move like a slug >_<
My 84 got a grinding executioner sword with gheed's 10% and it cost 18k and sells for 35k. It took forever. 2-3 hours.
My 65 '' cost 9k and sels for 35k. :)
PS. odd boath cost the same in act 1 vs the lvl 85's act 5 cost 18k
this scythe Level 37 is the best item for this trick?
It's whatever has the best Sell to buy ratio.
I was using an ancient axe that had a sale ratio of 21,000 gold which was pretty good.
It also depends highly on your level as each level up on your character increases the price.
I did notice that two handed weapons have a better ratio so far.

i do exactly what you are saying but the value of the item dose not increase when i equip it and what is a scaling modifier is this hacks or something?item? if now one can help i dont think it works anymore
Scaling modifiers are things that go up with the level of your character.
So the value changes as you level up.
There are A lot of scaling modifiers within the game, fools mod, grinding mod ect.
You have to have a scale by level modifier for this to work.
And yes it still works
For people thinking this isn't working. You can't BUY the item from a vendor first, you must find an item. A purchased item is purchased at your character level. So the item won't scale up. An item found in an area that isn't terrorized and is lower level than you WILL scale up and be able to be sold for more.
I've tried both ways and cannot seem to get it to work, am I doing something wrong?
You can buy it from vendor and it works fine.

Do you think got fixed by Blizzard ? I did it so much today , and at some point the values were not lucrative anymore , I could only get less than I was buying it for.

aww.. just tested this in norm difficulty on a armor with +to life based on char lvl and a ammy with that same mod. It did not work at all. 0 gold difference.
PS. Attack rating(based on character lvl) doesn't work ether.

Looks like no, on the nintendo switch version you can't swap to the old graphics mode while in the vendor window hmm.
However you can hold Y to sell an item directly from your hand which means it could possibly work. Requires further testing.

after awhile you sold the enigma youre wearing by accident
I found grinding ancient axe which sells for 36k and only at charsi I buy it for 13k, so that's 23k profit for sale. other merchants will sell it at 16k. I'm only lvl 77.

@@Powermongur i think they might have patched it in season 7, i'm no longer able to sell "Grinding" weapons for a profit even when legacy graphics toggled
@@kushpaladin I'm playing S7 and it works. Some weapons don't work. Try a melee weapon, be in hell mode on a lvl 50+ char. And you have to sell while holding not in inv.

It does it has to be a low level grinder then sell it on a high level character. Only some items work even if it is a grinder

Just out of curiosity why wouldn't it? you can sell the item directly out of your hand in Switch. I haven't tested it yet but it should work in theory
All you gotta to is equip the item and holy Y on nintendo switch to sell it directly from your hand.
Several people confirmed it does work on nintendo switch and xbox.
@GGMentor well. Egg on my face 🤦♂️ during the gambling period, I just sold pgems and bought them back. I was too busy complaining to consider just holding Y on the on hand weapon. Lol. My bad ❤️
