Mini cable yarder - cable crane

- This is a prototype very small carriage for a cable crane system to transport materials from water near shoreline up and over a cliff to a building site.
The site has very extreme tides up to 25 ft. If might also be used for clearing fallen timber from the site.

Look nice. How did you make the brake system?
No Brakes, just the tension on the control line, so that is a big limitation. If the rope breaks the trolley goes with gravity to the bottom.
what is the mechanism at the top that catches the trolley?
A hook retained by a spring, and then released by the skinny string. The hook is mounted in the bracket that encloses the main cable and the pull rope, and it must stay vertically weighted to slide into the trolley reliably at the top.
