Learning this the hard way now. Trying to be the light at work, but it's too dark. I can't burn my light out trying to play hero/be everyone's savior. I have to be my own hero, rescue myself, & protect my light while I still have the chance. Their inability to recognize or appreciate my efforts isn't a reflection of who I am & it doesn't make my light insignificant.
