Seeing TVS making a good and trustworthy tyre is unbelievable. Congratulations to the brand who committed to give better tyres for the bikes which deserve.
I thought MRF is always better than TVS because i used both in my RTR 180 and seen a noteworthy difference. But that is the story of the past. Today TVS has brought their racing pedigree even in the tyres are highly appreciable. As the pro rider said that every biker need a tyre which suits mostly on the regular road and especially on wet surfaces. Tyre cost are surprisingly higher but can understand why it is. Performance bike maintenance is not easy. Tyres are very important to discover the potential of the bike. Once again a great production by Rev Nitro!! I came to know some nice information about these tyres. Keep it up!

Such an informative and much needed video for all the entry level sport bike owners. Kudos to the team. Would also like to add my two cents And things i wish someone told me when i went tyre shopping. I have now been lucky enough to try all three of these tyres from start till end of life. Note: I dont do track days, I only commute and tour regularly in search of corners. **Long comment ahead** 1.The MRF Revz is what comes stock with all KTM's until the 250dukes, For a short while the 390's also had them. Mine was the same case with my Husqvarna. Since i was starting off my biking journey it was a tyre that got the job done. Its hard wearing and gives long life. However wet grip and corners did not feel that confident. As i was starting off in these tyres it helped me learn the limit and not push too hard. Lasted me for 15k until it hit the tread wear indicator. One thing i had noticed was that the tyres were worn more in the centre. These had also given me some tense moments in the wet when touring. 2. My next move was to the protorq extremes. Chose these since Shumi from powerdrift (now motorinc) had been using these and only had praises. 1st thing, These are hard to source locally (atleast this was the case in 2022) And people have hardly ever heard of it. Even had some people ask me, If i was crazy for spending 12k for a set of TVS tyres. However i believe its gaining popularity now(Aprillia RS457 is gonna use these). I had sourced mine from the Torqbloq page in Instagram. Until this tyre change, i had only heard of people in youtube or blogs mentioning that tyres make a huge difference to how you feel when you ride. I used to find this very hard to believe. But TVS changed my perception about tyres. The first thing you notice visibly about this tyre is that it doesn't look like a 150 section tyre. Its curve is very high and doesnt look as wide as the other 2 tyres. This initially made me think if that this wouldn't be great. (i used to think wider tyres, look cooler and perform better) But from my first ride on them i was blown away. the grip in corners, Grip in rain was amazing. The difference was night and day compared to the MRF Revz. Went on an ride from chennai to kolli hills and these tyres made me feel like i was in motogp through the hairpins bends. But when the tyres hit 10k and they were worn out . I believe the summer heat was why they wore down this quick. The grip was still there even at 10k but i it had already hit the tread wear indicator. The wear was however even across the entire tyre. Overall the best tyre in my experience as well. One thing to note is that in case of any warranty claims. Good luck trying to reach the TVS customer support. Luckily i had no claims but wanted to enquire about the process. But that experience itself was horrendous. 3. Now running the Alpha H1's. The main reason for my change was i tour often and The 10k limit of the protorqs(as per my use) was too less for the price. i was willing to sacrifice some grip for life. The Alpha H1's look wider(less curve) and look cooler any day compared to the TVS. They arent as great as TVS for grip in the wet. Dry performance is close to TVS and miles ahead of MRF. They will also definitely last longer than the TVS. Been 5k with them now and completely satisfied. If you want the best grip and are willing to change tyres regularly. Pick TVS. If you tour and want a balance of life, grip and also want wide looking tyres :P Go for the Apollo. Id recommend to not pick the MRF's if feasible.
I'm using revz in my r15 v4. As you said, wet grip is quite bad in even normal flicks. I can feel the slippery prominently. And even in minimal sands also, it'll will make you feel you less confident with the tyres. But in normal conditions, it will provide good confidence to twist the throttle even in 70 - 80 kmph.
This is the first like and first comment after 3 years of using yt ..not for the count though ...But for the effort ...hats off for the rev nitro team, camera crew ,editing crew ,hosting crew ,riders, mechanics ,and for all the effort takers ....respect bruhhh ...
Completely agree with the analysis. People who have used the Protorq extreme have given raving reviews about the tyres grip and feedback. The only downside is the tyre life. Will definitely try this on my Yamaha R3 when I go for a tyre change. Also, the people who have used the MRF steel brace on MMRT track have told me that the tyre is extremely disappointing.
@@OnlyCitrus There are 3 variables here. Performance/Safety, Longevity, and Price. The best tyre will hit the sweet spot of all the three variables. The good ones will be biased towards two of the three. In your case, you should just close your eyes and buy a Pirelli Diablo Rosso or a Michelin Road-5. P.S: Nobody is going to compromise on their life. You can't ride a bike when you are dead. 😛
Using protorq in my rtr 200 for more than a year performs well in wet roads as mentioned in the video. Pushed my RTR in the downhill during heavy rain but still it sticks on the road..
