just at this moment I have beaten this mf so here's some tips for bad players like me: -First face you're gonna want to use a greatshield and make sure he hits you with his sword three or four times, when he does the slam punish him. -Stick with one or two hits maximum, try using a weapon with bleed. -when he slams the floor and the white claw thingies come at you, don't dodge, they will most likely hit you. -Run as far away from him as you can when he does the rocks rising and falling attack with this and some practice you will get the first phase guaranteed with minimal damage almost everytime now with second phase I don't have much tips as it wrecked me repeatedly but for what I could get: -Stick with a maximum of 1 hit each chance, maybe two but not more than that. -After practicing your dodges, try to stick as close to him as you can, memorize patterns and much importantly avoid his anime slash attack and the explosion ones he does. -try to not roll backwards as most attacks will hit you -If you need to heal, look for an opening after he finishes attacking or take cover behind a pillar, otherwise he will rush you and raw fuck you in the ass -And the final tip is to remain calm, remind yourself to stay focused and not panic, avoid rolling when unnecessary because you will get raw fucked on the ass again, don't spam when he's low health because you're getting raw fucked, and FOCUS on the enemy at all times if this helps let me know good luck to everyone

Props for the visuals of the attacks. The slowdown really helps with analyzing the boss' moves. More people should take example. Sometimes battle is so frantic it is nice to be able to slowly watch the attack moves.
Thanks man, this is the only actual good melee video I've seen for this fight. All of the others are either broken OP cheeses, or ridiculous over the top magic techniques. My only problem is that, coming straight from Bloodborne, I'm not used to shields (haven't used one in the whole game). But I guess I'll have to give it a try.

@@franciscoi.4640 dude, I best him yesterday (8 days since this comment lol). I tanked the whole first phase with a shield. For the second one I found out that there’s an item called Blasphemous Claw that lets you parry some of his attacks, that’s the way to go.
I finished the game and this boss was the toughest for me. I had to summon other players to beat him (first phase was fine but man, the second one was too hard). I played mainly as a magician in my first play through and the spells were just too slow to cast. The last two bosses of the game were imo easier (didn’t need help for the elden beast…the mimic tear was sufficient). Godskin Duo was actually also hard for me. The only boss I didn’t fight is Melinnia. Will try to fight her in NG+ (I didn’t find her…had to check on the net how to get access). Anyways, good vid
Using Bloodhounds Fang and a mimic tear is all I used for the fight. Granted it was still really damn hard, but it got the job done in the end. I did this fight after Mimic’s tear nerf

Yeah heavy weapons are just harder for bosses that don’t stagger I’m using a colossal and damn it’s hard to hit and dodge when he is 3 times as fast as me
Most of the issues I come across are patience. You can't just spam attack like in most games. You have to block, dodge and wait for the window for an attack

With me he just spams his crazy aoe attack the last one which you died to yourself. Even if you manage to somehow tank it. You bleed out before you can use a flask. This is checkmate for meeee
"just kill the knight"... its a draconic tree sentinal... one of the hardest normal enemies in the game, you wont be casually walking through. good luck

Lol pro tip (not really pro) but the stupid tree sentinel before the boss fight, you can use Carian Retaliation to catch his fireball spell and retaliate with blades floating around you, F'n fireballs man
When I fight him he is in the air 90 % of the time and spaming attacks. I literally can't do ANYTHING. Maybe the game/boss recognizes that I am a range mage fighter? 3:19 He is running towards you. I would get a nice jump from him and 3 blades in my face..... I don't wanna respec again to strenght/dex just to win against him. Any tips for mage player?
The shield I was using it's called "Beast Crest Heater Shield". But I'm pretty sure any shield with 100% physicals damage reduction should be able to block it's regular melee attacks.
That summon has the same effect has malekith, as in his attacks reduce your health by a certain percentage for a while. The 'heal' you're seeing is just him getting his health back as the effect wores off

@@amulet9265 I meant the second phase, the first one is simple. You can't show of all his attacks in just over a minute. He does mention the two wave attack, but it's not in the vid. The boss also has a roar. Not to mention all the parry timings.

Maybe try using Ash summons to distract the boss while you blast away at him from a distance?
