When I came across this album few months ago i couldnt believe that after decades I dedicated to prog and jazz I had no idea they existed . What a jewel !
No progressive rock music fan should be misled by the album title "Jazz macht Spazz", a bowdlerization of "jazz makes fun", this is progressive jazz-rock at its best. Büdi Siebert (flutes and saxes), Herbert Binder (gt), Frank Fischer (bass), later with Release Music Orchestra, Thomas Rabenschlag (keys) and drummer Bea Maier (later with Zomby Woof and Moira), all well trained on the instruments, played a varied, inventive, melodic and often furious kind of music with lots of Krautrock magic .
Hi Frank ich hab euch damals im Gymnasium Damme gesehen, ohne Gitarrist, hat mich immerhin so beeindruckt, dass ich mich fast 40 Jahre später noch daran erinnern kann.
this is not krautrock, it's just 70s jazz rock fusion, and very good too. the term 'krautrock' seems not well defined as as such used in a very wide way that it is more or less meaningless. i dont think amon duul etc called themselves krautrock
Krautrock is the epoche, not a genre in any sense. Its misdefined at its lack of definition capability. Just make your ears at ease and let your mind climb wandering through the cloud trees.

I understando the Krautrock as a musical movement throughout an epoche, which included many different genres and variations.
