00:00 - Osman's Dream
01:37 - Beneath the Nightfall
06:55 - Irene
13:55 - Nova Roma
19:54 - Kasifi's Verses
21:40 - Where the River Bends
28:27 - The Treacherous Hunt
34:25 - Akhatist Hymn
36:06 - The Fall of Constantinople
FYI: Akhatist means standing from the greek word "ακάθιστος" (not sitting down). It is said that during the last night of the Ottoman siege in Constantinople where all hope was basically lost, everyone gathered in the city's temple (Agia Sofia) and sang the specific hymn.
15 years ago a student from Morocco came to my place to party and played Behemoth and some of his thrash compositions on my RG Series, he blew me away then and continues to do so to this day, hands down best album of 2022!
¿What is an RG serie?

@@creativeindependance7015 Ah. Thank you 😁
After having found Aeternam, I sometimes turn off in-game music and play theirs - ahhhh, the music, the lyrics; THE LYRICS - you need to know what they sing about in order to appreciate it even more.
I'm doing the same. Playing assassin's Creed Odyssey for the first time. I know I'm late on the game but damn. It fits.
@@jiggle_nuggets_6921 Peloponnesian war fits with eastern roman empire when they have songs about fourth crusade, Justinian making hagia Sophia or empress Irene that ended the first iconoclasm?
Real good EU4 music when playing as Mehmed
What in the name of the all known and unknown gods did I just listened? Enormous work has been done here !
The opener to Where the River Bends is so powerful and inspiring. Easily my favorite part of the album.
470 years on and still not forgotten
Hail from America! Fantastic album. Possibly my favorite of the year so far. Great stuff!
This album represents the true meaning of words like Sublime, Glorious and Magnificent. Relegating aggressiveness based on speed and powerful riffs, they prioritized progressiveness and developed the oriental symphony to a level beyond what was expected for this album. A success of the band, a true work of art. Congratulations from Argentina.
Can't stop listening to this one! All of your releases have been great, but the only problem I'm having with this one is that I want to keep repeating songs, so it's hard to get through the album in one sitting! I think this has converged on the perfect balance of heavy aspects with the ethnic influences. I daresay this is the best album I've heard all year! Irene and Where the River Bends are contenders for song of the year. Keep up the flawless work, and best of luck as we head into the new year!
Utterly exceptional. A masterpiece. Well done all involved.
We need a new genre - History metal. The one that immerse you into the time period and drives to study the subject.
Increíble, épico, mágico, fantástico !!!! WOWWWWW 🤘🤘🤘❤ From Argentina👍
hell yeah! big congrats from Tunisia
This really is an album of the year contestant. Very strong album, very few to no flaws at all. Really dig the middle eastern influences !
Malade les gars!! bravo pour ce solide album encore une fois!! svp arrêter pas de faire de la musique!
This is truly your best album yet. Such sweeping, swelling beauty and historical depth - it's relentlessly moving and interesting. I'm hooked.
Edit: This album has opened my eyes to entire period of history I'd slept on - since hearing this album for the first time a few weeks ago, I've been bingeing both Aeternam albums and documentaries/articles on Byzantine history. Thank you for caring so deeply about your music and your subject matter - you guys are absolutely next-level.
giati puli m den kelaidis....mas pirane tin poli mas.....ke tin aya sofia mas........
this is so not the genre i usually listen to, but i love every secons of it! i'm especially astonished by the mixing, it sounds exactly the way i would want it to.
Amazing, amazing!! It's the first time i listen to them. I really like the middle eastern atmosphere.
Я, по моему, ничего подобного не слышал!!! Это восхитительно!!!
Есть такой жанр - Oriental Metal. Amaseffer, Orphaned Land, Glasya, Aeternam, Tamerlan Empire, Symfonity, Behemoth и т.д. - из этой оперы. Кстати об опере - Therion, Dol Ammad - тоже играют ориентал.
Miguel de Lys would love this 😁
While i don't think every track is good I would love to see an album about a Roman Republic or Empire before the split or Fall of the West
Absolutely one of my favorites this year again! Al Qassam was one of my favorites 2 years ago too. You guys really can't miss! So good!
Un autre album sublime! Bravo les gars!
Oola, I'm from Brazil, I'm in love with your music! Congratulations for your work!!! I had to find good music far from my continent.
instrumentals are slapping!!!
Excellent album! Your hard work will be rewarded, continue releasing material such as this!
Im speechless... this album is the tits
Great band, great album, great style. I'm excited to hear more from you, especially with history (especially roman and byzantine) themes like in this gem :D Keep up the excellent work. With regards from Germany
oh hell yeah!! another great album, the djent is strong in this one!
31:00 I love this part so much
Did one of the bandmates do the opening monologue, because Osman has just the right mix of imperial menace and helpless ectasy in his voice, like he knows he's a monster but he's God's monster.
"Constantinople. Either i conquer you...or you. conquer. *me...!*
These are words of Mehmet II , not if Osman
Fantasztikus album.! A valaha egyik legjobb amit hallottam!
My beloved God. Amazing album. Keep up the Great Work!
SO GOOD!!!
Absolute Masterpiece!
YES!
Great album!
Just..Wow!!!...🤘
🔥🔥🔥🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I see that it is only available for download (checked bandcamp & amazon).
Any plans on releasing it on cd?
Never mind, I found the cd on your website :)
Fantastic work!
if i had a nickel for every canadian symphonic melodic death metal band with very historical lyrics I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
(other band is Ex Deo)
I was hooked at "The trees grew from my bossom" 😂
love love love love love 💖💖💖💖💖
C est trop trop bien
🐲
HAIL!!!!
Love it!
Yeeeeeeeeessssss

morethan anything
how come you have bosoms?
Sick!
Overall rating: 7/10 - Production TOP, Electronic elements TOP and that's all... You are not deathmetal anymore unfortunately, You mutilated into folk metal. I have Moongod and Ruins on vinyls. I have even bought Moongod training shirt .... but our common adventure ended on previous album. Was so hyped for the new one! I have listened "heir of ..." several times already and to be honest wrong direction been taken but I can understand catching more public from "metal mainstream" ...
Oriental/Symphonic Death Metal, for sure!
Nowadays I feel that it's pretty difficult for bands to stay in one direction. They usually explore more or sometimes a vital member leaves the band and the creativity with them.
Yea nile does this way better. This is ok but a bit light.
how is this album different than Moongod and Al Qasim?
@@TrajGreekFire how? Just listen to those albums. It's Simple way to find out
I keep coming back to listen again and again. Holy fuckkkk!!!!
