    Hiya, most definitely not your fault as the instructions are incorrect on the later posts but the cable end at the post should not just slot into the bottom of the post as the instructions and your vid show. It should go into a small "barrel" supplied in the kit which has a recess in it for the cable end to fit into. This then slots into the post cable retainer. You will then find the barrel will fit snugly into the end of the post. Hard to explain but when you use the barrel it becomes obvious that, that is how the cable is designed to fit. It just looks correct. That said, fitted as you have it will function ok but has slightly more possibility of the cable failing at the post end or of wearing the aluminium pull point on the post mechanism a little which might affect resale value etc.
    Great posts by the way, I've got 3 in total. A great upgrade is the ZTTO or even better the MK2 version Bontrager lever which is Matchmaker AND I spec II compatible.👍 ZTTO is around £17, the much nicer Bonty one is circa £23.
    Nice video and thanks for upping!

    • @renaud7101
      @renaud7101 4 года назад

      It's probably just different kits. I think I have the same as the one in this video. There is definetely only one barrel provided with my kit and the thumb lever is requiring it (it fits there). And that barrel doesn't have a recess for the cable end. I recko they could probably just provide 2 barrels and everything would be perfect. I understand what you mean by saying the cable end seems less snug than the barrel, because when I first installed the ascend on my bike, I didn't remove the cables (I just kinda tweaked and hacked the previous ones and only replaced the dropper post) and the previous kit had a barrel there. I know it sounds ghetto, but I was on the road without much tools and in a hurry to go bike!

    This is a very good vid, but just one small mistake when attaching the cable to the dropper actuator. There is a Dropper Cable Sleeve into which the lead bullet on the end of the cable sits , this centers the cable end correctly in the actuator split receptor and will prevent chaffing of the cable itself. The cable sleeve and the lever end "barrel" are available as spares from Wiggle

You may find that with a smaller frame size the 120 dropper sticks out the top a bit. This is not uncommon with quite a few trail bikes, but to be on the safe side you might want to go for a smaller dropper post. Perhaps a 100mm dropper would be better suited. hope that helps.

      @@bikeandbeyond Will be going for Stan's after many recomendations, I'm just not sure which rim tape width I needed for the Bizango wheels! Unfortunatley information is lacking around the wheel geometry.

      @@Leesey1988 I completely agree. It seems that many of the parts are a bit of a mystery when it comes to replacing or upgrading on the Bizango. I guess the best place to go would be to an independent bike shop and see what they say. I should really get the tubeless conversion kit out and have a play. I have no idea what width tape it has in it. to buy it separately the tape can also be pretty expensive for what it is.

      @@bikeandbeyond I might just chance it, if all else fails it's a trip to B&Q for some gorilla tape and gheto it. The bike it's self has been brilliant so far,, and well worth the £585 paid. Just the video I was looking for, thank you.
    I have the Voodoo Mambo & this is one of the droppers I'm considering.
    Is there a way to shorten the outer cable as looking at your video it doesn't quite sit flush/tight to the frame & that would play with my OCD?! lol
    P.S. I just subscribed 👍

    • @bikeandbeyond

      Amazing thanks Jamie. In the end I managed to tidy everything up and get the cable flush to the bike without having to chop it. In the video I didn't have enough cable ties to attach it to the frame properly, which it why the cable hangs a bit loose and looks a bit scruffy. I was surprised at how well the post and cable fit my frame in the end. Droppers are a great upgrade, definitely worth the price tag.

      I'm lucky that where I live I can ride 5mins down the road & find some unofficial single track. I'm taking it steady, but sending it & pushing myself a little & a dropper will definitely help as my seat does get in the way sometimes.
      Cheers for the reply 👍

      Mine is a medium frame (20'') and my seat tube diameter is 31.6. I am not sure if this changes based on different frame sizes. Best way to find out is to take your seat post all the way out and the measurements are on the bottom of it.
      I installed a 120mm dropper. Hope this helps

    Hi would the 150 fit on the 20 inch

    • @bikeandbeyond
      @bikeandbeyond  4 года назад +1

      As long as the seat post diameter is the same as the 120 then it will fit in. I have the 120mm and I can put it right the way down in to the seat tube if I wanted. The worst that would happen if the 150 was too long is that it would stick out the top ever so slightly. Most riders don't have the dropper flush to the seat tube anyway, so you should be fine. Most places do free returns if you get the wrong size.
