Title: Why I won't be selling on Amazon! Andrew: I will be exploring it, I will be opening a seller account...I'm not going to ignore it, I don't recommend you guys ignore it either?
You cannot compare south africa to poland and sweden. Our consumers are different. If Amazon comes with faster shipping from other countries and better products, they can do well.
Amazon doesn't bring all the international goods. That's the mostly the suppliers/ 3rd party sellers. For example. Someone in China can send their stock to amazon USA to sell. This works because its fairly cheap and reliable to send to USA from China. Amazon does nothing to facilitate this process. Our government will still be in control of the customs and imports for all foreign suppliers. Yes, amazon may be able to import more products that it owns. Amazon US is currently 60% thrid party sellers. Also, Walmart came here and has still not gotten it right.
@@AndrewForte1 how do you state they are 60% third party and write that long paragraph to explain what? I am well aware Amazon is a marketplace. I knew there's a portion of the products they sell directly. You miss the point of my initial comment. Our consumers are different. Poland and Sweden culturally is different to South Africa. Do not deviate from the point. You are making money on Takealot because of South African consumers. There are a lot of policies Amazon can implement which will make with more convenient to clients and more cost effective for vendors. You are making assumptions on what the experience will be like (which is fine) but it should not serve as a way to put off others (which your platform allows you to do). I am stating my opinion just as you did yours.
Howzit bud, I’m South African and after many months of research (going back and forth) I’m finally ready with all my ducks in a row and about to open up a Central Sellers Account in the US Market. My only question I have is the following: Is it absolutely critical for South Africans (being a tier 2 country) that one open up an LLC? Or can we as South Africans go without it initially and still successfully trade on the platform without having an LLC. I have my payoneer account and everything else that’s needed all setup for the opening of an account. I’ll be opening the sellers account as an individual.
I went the llc route. It was easy. Use firstbase. You will struggle otherwise without it. For small things like shopify pay and amazon may also give you hassles.
@@AndrewForte1 much appreciated mate. Do you or would you consider offering up your time for an hour or so, to provide consultation on FBA (mostly from a setup perspective) cross the T’s and dot the I’s kind of thing? Just seeking local advice to ensure that I haven’t missed anything (again, as a South African wanting to sell in the US market)
@@AndrewForte1 I think SA needs Amazon, hopefully big companies will swing policy and custom changes. South Africa is crippling entrepreneurs. I appreciate Takealot

Hi Andy, it is a very interesting point that you bring up about sales in the entire southern africa area. It will open up a huge market.

Amazon is aware of our labor laws and unions, they have call centres here.
I was so excited for them to be here 😢
If they can handle the logistics to Africa. You can be!

Your info about Amazon France is not correct. Amazon France operates well, and is in wide use in France. Has been for years.
