So my theory with yunhos brother is definitely related to a lot that has to do with why they all ended up going their separate ways. What I get from it is that yunhos brother and jongho were best friends which is why they both know how to play the guitar they most likely had that in common. Yunhos brother probably got bullied a lot during their school years and jongho didn’t know much about it which explains the “I was too young to know how to reach out to my lost friend” line in their animated teaser they posted on both Instagram and twitter. Yunhos brother must have grew tired of the constant bullying and the text was of him texting yunho and the rest goodbye. So my guess is that when jongho received that text he must have ran after him and got the chance to get to him but when he tried to stop him yunhos brother was crossing the street where he then stopped in the middle of and when he stopped a truck was coming towards him, jongho saw ran to save him but instead he ended up getting injured while yunhos brother died. Reason why jongho fought mingi was probably before the incident. Jongho probably found out about mingi bullying yunhos brother (you can see the person who mingi fought is similar looking to yunho brother) and confronted him about it to where mingi then got mad and went to beat up yunhos brother for telling jongho (which would explain why jongho wasn’t injured when he confronted mingi). After yunhos brother died it ended up taking a toll on the rest of the members where they ended up all splitting up and going their own ways, hongjoong losing everything his family and friends he wants to get it all back which is why the whole journey probably started because they all want some sort of treasure whether that’d be fame love money eternal life (what it says in their first epilogue for their debut) whatever they desire is their treasure. Idk this is JUST my theory and idk if any of that made sense but that’s what I feel like happened lol

But something happened and now their connection is shattered? (the broken mirror in the beginning) and they can't reach that universe/warehouse. But then we see Hongjoong in the warehouse without anyone else, so i think that is his universe, so all the others were able to travel to his but not to each other's, and with the connection broken, somehow Hongjoong can still see them but they can't see him (the tv screens, mentioning the one way glass). Somehow the hourglass is going to be able to help him reach them again? And all the mentions of being free, the freedom before was all of them being able to escape their troubles by going to the warehouse, and now that they can't they are trapped in their own universes?
This is a long post, sorry in advance 😅 So I just went back and watched Wave because there were a few things they hinted at leading up to this. First, we see Mingi wearing the headphones than there is Yunho sitting in the car. Maybe he was the one driving the car then go a message? I don’t know. Then we see all the boys on the basketball court and Jungho dribbling a basketball. Another thing from Wave is that San has a video recorder through out the MV, so I wonder if that will come up again. Another thing, a bit far fetched, but hear me out. There were 8 MVs before Answer, but including there Japanese release of Utopia. So, honestly, I’m not that good at coming up with theories, but what if they each maybe represent a different dimesion for each boy. -Pirate King represents Hongjoong, he’s the leader and the one taking on the “mission” -Treasure for Seonghwa, he found the girl’s bracelet and freedom -Hala Hala is filmed in a warehouse like where Wooyoung was performing, then it got closed (maybe their dark virsions were dancing inside 🤭🤔😂) -Say My Name for Yeosang because in Answer he looks at a piece of glass and sees himself and in Say My Name is when they first sit across and see their “dark self. He is also trapped in that ice box this kind of like the birds in the cages -San hates moving around the the diary film and in Illusion they are on a boat sailing until they finally land on the island -In Wave we see Yunho first sitting in the car looking around and thinking, then maybe he remembers Jungho (if they are storyline brothers) being happy playing basketball with there friends -Aurora and Jungho are more metaphorical, Aurura shows a bridge in the background and the film it shows his “dreams” burning along with him fighting his friends, so he has “Burt his bridges” -Wonderland’s lyrics has a lot of imagery involving youth and Mingi seems to deal with his problems in an immature fashion by putting on headphones and not resolving the conflict. And when he does, he takes physical action; charging in, similar to how the lyrics seem to push you to take action. ( this one is a bit of a stretch 😅) -Answer is when they finally all come together to face their other selves with Hongjoong being the lead. Also, Mingi was standing on a boat by himself, so that might represent him pulling himself way from the others. The MV relsease and order of the boys in the diary film match up too. I don’t know. I think Hala Hala ones or DarkTeez are the ones traveling to different dimensions and I think they're trying to prevent Ateez from becoming DarkTeez. I think Darkteez are the actual time travelers. The hour glass is from the Darkteez dimension. They are trying to prevent something from happening maybe??
I don't know if Jongho is really Yunho's brother, at 10:45 you can see Yunho's brother body on the floor when the light flicks, eems to me like he's dead... And when the msg appear on the phones the time is 5:07 on both phones. That warehouse where they are all together is their safe place in my opinion. Love your reactions!!!

I feel like they all started out in the same dimension, then someone got thrown into 8 separate ones, but when they somehow got reunited, they created the pirate crew to ensure they'd never be separated again, but it's just a theory. I think the "dark" versions of them are actual versions of them from a separate multiverse who are actually trying to guide them through the terrors of being apart.
