NO DREAM ISNT IN THE VIDEO! Dreams runs are the 1.9+ category: I will NOT be doing 1.9+ runs any time soon. The speedrunning war has multiple videos on it, and with how many changes are happening to the category, making a video would be unbelievably difficult with having to change stuff constantly. I was wondering why people had suddenly started commenting on my old SSG run videos! Wow - amazing video! The info on sister seeds and tower strats in particular was absolutely fascinating. You asked in your video how I got that seed for the very first SSG world record. Answer: brute force. I spent maybe a year generating and exploring thousands of seeds, looking specifically for deserts with temples close to spawn and a Looting book. As you can imagine, the search for the seed was exhausting. Before that, I had tried doing probably a year of 'true' RSG runs, but I rejected that idea of pulling that in anything under, say, 2 hours due to the obvious hurdles. SSG was probably doable in less than 1 hour, but even the best seeds I found were still pretty poor for getting to the end quickly. I probably ran that WR seed 200-300 times before getting the time under 1 hour! I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have. Thanks so much for sharing the video, and for the nice mentions. (Fun Fact: I'm an old man -- I was 46 when I got this world record.)

Do you still do or follow any kind of speedrunning? Huge props to you for being the first person to just bite the bullet and truly take on the challenge of SSG. I wonder how long it would've taken for the category to get moving if you hadn't just gone for it. Gotta say, I'm also surprised by how old you were, especially learning now just how many of the recent prominent Minecraft speedrunners seem to be so close in age at like 19-21. This is one of my favourite videos on YT - extensive research, great presentation and super interesting. Thanks.
It feels so weird watching this as I recognize the old world records I watched in 2015-16.
I love when really small youtubers breakthrough with these high quality videos everyone wants. I just love this stuff!!!
I was heartbroken by what happened to tarokitchen. I hope they're doing well.
What happened
@@gecrgroupeffortchickenrevi6164 He was about to get a world record on hardcore mode but accidentally clicked the bed in the end and died. He gave up on speed running after that.
@@RecklessAband0n can I get the vid on that?
@@imthebestbs5913 it's in this video at 51:50
Dude. I _loved_ your choice of music. I have good memories of, like, 90% of the songs you used. Very cool.
Also, what an interesting video! The techniques the runners used and the epic highs kept me watching til the end-and jeez, I can’t imagine writing a script that long.
All in all, this is one of my favorite videos!
Great video! I love your content. Here are some possible video ideas for WR history videos: New Super Mario Bros Wii 100%, Cuphead, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
@@pepearown4968 No, he didn't, he did NSMBW Any%
What about Celeste, Mario Kart 64 (the tracks that Summoning Salt didn't cover), Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Super Mario 64 16 Star?
New super mario bros would be great!
Popoking XD he already did that lmao
@@SupernovaC no he didnt
Illumina is a beast, and still active, he pops into beasttrollmc streams on twitch every so often
Been waiting for soo long, good to see you back
New here, your research and clarity in communication is incredible...thank you
Slight mistake around 39:03. You talked about a new runner "wata" and showed his record at the bottom right but it says Tarokitchen down there. Still a great video. I really enjoyed it :)
watched this along with all of your vids over a year back, regret not commenting
Man I know youre THIS close to exploding... if someone sees this from the future when he has, Hi!
Btw, I love the Zelda music, would be nice if you had this in future videos
I must say, your music choice is top notch.
26:50 that run was made on 4/20 and has a time of 6:09.. nice
yeahah I was lookin for this comment and was not disappointed
Dang dude. The production quality is great for a new channel. I will make sure to stay tuned as you grow as a creator! Good luck!
RUclips algorythm loves you and you 100% deserved it
Simply made it PogU 41:49
People: **Complaining about Dream**
Connor01: A foolish miscalculation...
Me: Thats why you get the context first, before expecting something.
GOOD TAKE
This channel needs WAY more attention. I love the detail you go into and the sound of your voice.
Perfect video mate.
Dude got a 1mil video and dipped
This is absolutely fantastic! everything from the script to the presentation is top notch. I can't wait to see more videos like this!
As someone who speedruns Minecraft LCE, this was very enjoyable to learn about SSG and RSG on java. Would love to see you cover any ILs of minecraft!
This is a spectacular and riveting video! I couldn't stop watching. I saw a Minecraft rsg at GDQ and it brought me here. Thank you for putting so much effort into this video!
These guys finishing the game under half an hour while im still making a farm 1 month in
the background music choices for this video are PERFECT
I'm so glad I got this in my recommended today. You just got a sub!
this video is one of the best i've ever seen in all my years of watching youtube. thank you so much for all that you do dude, much love
He's back boys. Found your content because of RUclips's recommend. It recommended the NSMBW speedrun history. I only watched it because I had no idea that people speedran it and because I have alot of nostalgia with mario wii. I think that video was very good and very insightful. Now this video, another one of my favorite games. This video is also a great one. I shall now turn on notifications
Yea I played NSMBW too, and I got his video recommended. His videos are really interesting, I'm subbed with all notifications on
Well narrated, well edited, well research, just all around a well made video. Great Job!
Tarokitchen- Luck 99
Dream:... Hold my sweatband
I love the Minecraft community. You have everything from tutorials to SMPs to speed runs. You also have people talking about the cool, extensive history of this game for people not there from the start or old players who want nostalgia.
50:05 It hurts seeing that many diamonds not being mined
I saw 4 vanes of dimonds
Where have you gone??? I just saw your videos and I absolutely love them, and I saw you only had 2 and was sad :(, please make some more videos, the quality was really good, and the videos were entertaining
Ten minutes in -- my jaw literally dropped hearing *eight eye.* I didn't even know that was possible. I've never seen anything higher than four before, especially in a speedrun. And with the other luck with gravel and the blaze spawner and fortress itself. I'm glad I had the time to at least start this video so I was made aware of this. Holy hell.
there is multiple seeds with 12 eyes right now
Very good work!

Yooooo my stock footage is used in this vid, hell yea
Yea thank you so much for having that stuff public, it's super high quality and exactly what i needed
@@Connor01 no problem, the video is incredibly informative and engaging. good job :)
Just got half way through the video and just wanted to say this is an awesome telling of the history of MC speedrunning.
Big ups.
IMPORTANT: Lide cheated😢.
The fuck, sat through this entire video then just to notice you only have 5k subs. With this kind of effort you should be in at minimum 100k. Excellent video. Good history. You earned a sub.
i just realized i forgot how a diamond block looks like
shoot
I saw your NSMBW video and I'm glad to see you continue to make content. This channel will make it big, trust me
Ssg: everyone

I like how time stamps in the description separate the video bar on mobile (don’t know about computer) nice selection of songs
“ the only reason i speedrun is because I’m inpatient” Speed Run bot in discord call
Your way of showing the song in the background of the video is brilliant
Can you upload again my friend, please. Your content is so good.
Mom: Dinner's ready son!
Me: Ok, let me beat minecraft real quick
imagine making a game that has infinite playable seeds and it getting beat in under 4 minutes 😂
Surprised how I, as someone who doesn't care for speedrunning, was able to fully enjoy listening to you talking about it, Great vid
That’s always the goal. Super glad to hear you enjoyed it
I’ve always wanted to do one of these world record progression videos. Do you have any tips for me and other fans of videos like these?
Do really really really good research before any writing. If you know everything before starting the script, you can do cool things like foreshadowing time jumping and other things that you couldn’t before. Also, it makes writing MUCH easier
Connor01 the run I want to do is Undertale. Where do you suggest getting the info on the runs?
McLain Boyd that’s for you to discover, depending on the age of the game/when the first recorded speedrun was accomplished, you’re gonna have to do some digging. You always gotta put in your own research effort just like these yt’s do
im gonna subscribe to yoy bro. Hopefully you can make it soon :)
5:00 man making my alarm clock the song of storms sounded like a good idea until I couldn't hear it without a sudden jolt of panic thinking I am late for something that doesn't exist
