- Mr. Peter Jonas/Musescore's Community Ambassador and Mr. James Bowden from RNIB, showed some new exciting live Braille translation and Braille 6-key note input features in Musescore 4. These new features have been developed and contributed by Sao Mai Center for the Blind. The activity was funded by the DAISY Music Braille project.
The content was recorded in English.
This looks like such an awesome feature!
Amazing work, congratulations!
This is great! When I was in collge, one of my music professors was blind; I wonder how this will improve her workflow
WOW.
Hi. When will it be possible to use this solution? Is it open source? Will it be integrated with Musescore or will an additional tool need to be installed?
Integrated
It's going to be as a part of Musescore 4's features. So, it's surely open source. Users just need to enable Live Braille module in order to use it, no third-party component required to install.
@@danghoaiphuc In which version of Musescore will this feature appear, and when is it planned? I can't wait to try it! :)
Colleagues at Musescore are reviewing and revising the code for merging. And I am sorry for not being able to say any expected release of Musescore integrated with the features. However, I hope it's gonna very soon in of of near coming Musescore releases.
This version Allowes To transcribe scores For singing but Doesn’t Translate The Words. Am I right?
Hello, thank you for this demo, I currently have a visually impaired student and I am teaching. Now I am gathering all things needed to introduce him to these new feature in MS4. I am able to display Braille Notation as in the video, however, I wanted to try writing with braile and I am not able to enter input mode as you do. Your braille display gets a green cursor, mine does not interact in input mode. If I try to write a new note, it inputs as a normal keyboard. What am I missing if you dont mind me asking? Is there something else I need to activate in MS4 or is it a special configuration in your OS to get this? I am currently on linux, but my student uses windows. Thanks
What screen-reader & speech synthesizer are you using?

Why is the audio for this so bad?
There are many reasons. It may be recorded by the built-in microphone of a smartphone so the quality is not the best or may be something is wrong with your sound system. At our point, the sound quality is not so bad!
