    I went with the Electro-Harmonix S8 with eight isolated outputs, seven 9V @ 250 mA and one 18V @ 150 mA. Plus, it's only 93.5 mm x 42 mm x 36 mm.

    Just ordered a mxr iso brick for 115 euros. I just want my signal chain to be clean. I only use eq and distortion pedals but I also have a tremolo and tech 21 flyrig. Hopefully it'll be good. No longer want to set my hopes on cheap gear. As soon as it arrives I will ship and return the cheap power supply I had before which was still around 44 bucks

    I read that if a power brick is powered by a standard DC adaptor instead of an IEC socket, that means it is not trully individually isolated, it's only isolated from the wall. Is this true?

    You know I just don't understand these videos that only try the BIG name pwr. I have been using a Caline P-1 power unit for over 4 yrs and have been powering 12-16 pedals w/o problems. Only paid $22 with Ebay bucks picking up the rest. Just as a precaution bought a MXR 238 brick for spare. Still wrapped up new looking. I run 3 daisies w/ 3 outs but only using 2. The other is capped until I want to try a new pedal in the beginning or middle or even the end of the line. This also has worked out very well. All off this $40 cheap brand piwer unit. Take a closer look at the Caline P-1 power unit. Big power and mines been very reliable. SO FAR !

    Thanks for this amazing video Sam! Does anyone know if there is a power supply that has at least 2 high amperage outputs, like one of 3000mA and another one of 1000mA, and then the rest of the outputs a combination of 300mA and 500mA? I'm building a pedal board that combines 2 multi-effects units (one requires 2500mA and the otherone 700mA) and the rest of the 'normal' pedals require the standard 300mA / 500mA. Many thanks! :)

      Did you ever get this all figured out. My guess is you need separate power for big pedal and can use other for rest. On my board I got a Butler Tube driver older 3 knob version. Also have a newer 5 knob version that has its own pwr cord. Don't want that on my board. Whole separate cord wouldn't work for me. I'm running the older T D at 18v and splitting up my 18v out between 10 band E Q and T D. Kinda no perfect because sometimes the light on the T D lights up w/o being engaged. No noise just seeing it out of the corner of my eye does get my attention at the wrong time.

    If I understand this correctly I can only connect two (2) 9 volt pedals to this power supply. I have 4 Behringer pedals that use a 9 Volt battery each. So the other inputs/connections would be useless for me. as I dont intend to buy any more pedals.

    Riddle me this: Why would a supplied wallwart work with a pedal, but NO power supply will? None I've tried anyway. Its 9v, only 100mA, but no power supply I've found would power it. It needs its own one underneath the board that it came with. Then it works no problem.
    Its a Mooger Fooger. The giant, country western, chorus one, if you're asking.

    • @thebootknifer
      @thebootknifer 5 месяцев назад

      I think it requires a center positive power supply, whereas most pedals are center negative.
      I think the one spot offers an adapter to reverse polarity for one output.

    • @thisguy2973
      @thisguy2973 2 года назад

      You have to have a larger power supply with more outputs, and then use a current doubler that takes up two jacks.
      For example, if you had an MXR ISO brick, you can use a current doubler on 2 450mA jacks for a combined 900mA of current. Make sure if you do something like this, you buy a current doubler and not a voltage doubler.

      2 years passed, so probably you solved it, but for the 8x 100mAh, the "mooer micro power" is a great option (declares 8 isolated x 300mAh, max consumption total 2Ah). and for the 1x500 + 4x250 a "strymon ojai" should be enough.

    All I need is 1x18v (for the MXR EQ) and 6-7-9-10 100mA ports. As of 2022 the only power supply I can use is the ISO8 which is great, Ive been putting off buying the 1 Spot daisy chain as buying one of the units you suggested for 1x18v port is just insane, and then daisy chain the 6-7 9v 100mA pedals......EFFING INSANE!! Ain't happening on my watch. None of these power supplies are usable to me because I need more than 5 9v 100mA pedals to power up. No MXR Bricks, No Voodoo Labs, No Strymans, not one of the "Known Brands" can power all my low 9v 100mA pedals, not one of them!!! Only the Chinese, but well made ISO8 can do it. Get your act together "Extremely over priced Known Big Brands" and stop ripping us peasants off, stop catering for just the elite pedals.
    Make a 2x18v output and 10 9v 100mA switchable to 12 or 18v damn it. The the Chines can do it better than you lot, so up your game and not your already insane prices "people". Yeah I'm filthy with the "known brands". They may work, but for me, they are an expensive poor joke.

    • @sparkyguitar0058

      I have to agree. I been using a Caline P-1 power system for 2 yrs with no problem. Powering 12-16 pedals with a couple 3 out daisy's. All the outs work perfectly so far. But the reason I'm on this video is I just won a bid on that 1st MXR unit and just looking it over. $60 thought I'd take a chance.
