I have the Sanyuns and I've been happy with them until today when they just stopped working. They suddenly stopped powering on for no apparent reason. I opened it up and can't see any evidence of damaged electrical components on the main circuit board (but can't access the control knob circuit board to see). So $75 down the drain (got less than 2 years use out of them). I also noted that they don't actually have a tweeter, it's just a decorative item on the front and doesn't even act as a passive radiator since below the cone is hard translucent plastic. So now I'm looking for a replacement and the Edifier R33BT was a candidate until I saw this video and now I think I'm going to spend more for something a little more capable. I will say this about the sound quality of the Sanyuns though: it varies drastically on the connectivity - on Aux cord it is awful (tinny, muffled, quiet and muddy), switching to USB makes a big improvement but using the Bluetooth mode seems to make them sound their best (more full and balanced sound, deeper and cleaner bass and better imaging). So in your tests for speakers with various input modes you really should test all the connections.
0:43 haha, the R33T wasn't doing too too badly before the bass kicked in, then that was it, total failure but that's due to the 5W. But as the SW208 started, BANG, instant difference!
I appreciate the video but really hard to discern any kind of quality over a microphone and youtube video, you could give a review of both with some remarks or something too😅
How do you prefer to connect the speakers? USB, AUX, or BLUETOOTH? I'd really like to know which you think sounds best with all three ways of connection. Thank you and great review my friend!🙂👍

The only issue I have heard with these is that they stop working after some time
Hopefully mine won't do that
😊
The bass might be better on sanyun but Edifier R33BT is definitely fuller and perfect for some classic rock.🤘
They both sound blanketed.

Hi, just wandering which one would you recommend between these two options?
The Sanyun sound really muffled. I had to return them.
yep same here, I cant understand anything watching a simple video, even I had a fkng GENIUS speakers with less muffled sound...

If the speakers have USB, then I connect them with USB otherwise, Aux. BT is the last resort for me.
Congratulations on the video. I have a question, Sanyun SW208 do they have a subwoofer?
No
I know it’s free music..but damn the first “song” reminds me of scene from Dumb & Dumber most annoying sound 😱
just a dumb question was this an rca connection with both, because the sanyun has a dac that works on the usb & bt connections?
The Sanyun was connected by USB
what about when connected via aux, is there a dac?
What's your choice?
R33BT
Why does it sound like the Edifier has way more reverb than the Sanyun? Are you sure you set this one up properly?
I have had the acclaimed Empire S500, I guarantee you that these SANYUN are superior. 😉
@@giandujavettorello6184 "acclaimed Empire S500" 🤣
@@Chebupelko che cosa ti fa ridere?
Gli Empire S500 sono diffusori acustici attivi.
