I love this video! No loud "exciting" music. No unnecessary explanation of what the product is or why you need it. Just clear on screen instruction and PERFECT camera angles. It's so peaceful, this could seriously be one of those ASMR videos that everyone likes. The kids playing, the wind blowing, the cars and planes in the background, but not too loud. The satisfying snap of the clips releasing from the dash... I could go on. This video should be used as a reference for how all videos of this style are made.
That tape on the wrench pisses me off. Only because i never thought of that and ive dropped about a million nuts and bolts over the years. Lol great video
Recently watched this video again and because of your great install vid and not to mention this brand, looks, affordability, design and it doesn’t block or instruments info cluster (on older models) I’m buying one today as a personal birthday present!
Agreed! I bought this dash mount because I have a '14 Trail and I still like to be able to see the clock and computer readouts. Now even with a bunch of mounts bolted in, my eye-line is still unobstructed from the dash display.
I love mine! I've had it for a few months now and use the ram mount to hold my phone. I have a go pro mount that I haven't installed yet. The fact I can still see my clock was the winning decision for me!
This made install SO much easier! THANKS! I love to mod stuff out but I always get nervous when drilling into a new vehicle. This video answered all my questions as I did the install. Fantastic and thanks for the video, as well as the great product!
Good install video and nice looking product. I have a couple of suggestions. Some for aesthetics, another for practicality and reliability. A recessed plug and black sheathing for the wire would be more aesthetically pleasing and provide and overall better finish as opposed to exposed wires and blade terminals. Using wire taps or scotch locks is very much not recommended in automotive applications. They have multi strand wire and vibrate. These Insulation displacement connectors were designed for solid core cable and for uses like copper phone cable that doesn’t move. A supplied, de-pinned piggy back connector for the cigarette lighter would be more ideal as it allows for removal without damage to the vehicle wiring harness should the owner ever want to remove it. Don’t take this as a pot shot at an otherwise very nice and versatile product, just some constructive criticism 👌
You seem pretty knowledgeable, do you know if splicing from the OEM cig lighter is enough power to run both power sources at the same time? i'm trying to find anywhere where I can learn more about how the electronics work in a 4runner. I don't want to stress the preexisting power supply. I do want to add an additional 12v socket in my glove box and have a fuse tapper to do so. Is that a better way?
Excellent step-by-step install. No guess work or anything left out. This set-up is on my short list although I may find a way to do "always on" power which the 4Runner lacks.
Great video! I read the comment about using a pigtail instead of the "vampire" connection. I'm researching how to pigtail. The question I have is could this be wired to the USB connection as well?
dnaesq Thank you :) Mounts were on backorder. They just arrived last Friday. You should have received tracking information. All mounts from 2 weeks ago have shipped. Email support@ics-fab.com with your order number if you haven’t received tracking info.
Great install video. It would have been trick if you could have put the USB charger in the "I" of ICS on each side to have chargers on both ends! ;) Love your product!
Thank you for the great video and great product. The USB part is junk though. I'm looking for a different USB block that is easier to hide wires coming off the back. No regrets about the purchase or install though, great fit and finish and without question the best one on the market.
I love the look of my new dash mount! I did everything this installs video showed but for some reason my usb mounting charger is not working. Any recommendations on what I can do?
NAPUANANI PASCUA yes double check the wire taps at your 12v. Make sure the metal blade pinches the wire before you close it shut, you may have to use pliers. 99.9% of the time that’s the reason. If that doesn’t work send an email to support@ics-Fab.com
ICS FAB ok just tried again and double check everything and still no working. Any other suggestions? Sorry not able to read after it says if it doesn’t work.
Can not OEM matching wiring connectors be sourced so that a splitter can be installed, rather than using wiretaps? Wait don't answer - yes they can be sourced. Would be a much better solution. Video production suggestion: put the titles above and below where the video title and RUclips progress bar would be in full-screen mode. Then when viewers pause the video to read the titles, the titles aren't obscured by the video title or RUclips progress bar.
man the screws and nuts were the toughest part :) it would be good to add some more space so that it is possible to unscrew the USB charger if i need to remove it. right now to here is no way to grip the nuts and they keep spinning when i turn the screw. i need to do this because my usb charger is not seem to be working :-(
I’d rather block my clock than have a half ass version of a superior product. It’s not like you aren’t mounting items that don’t have the time on it. A for effort though I guess.
ICS FAB how many of those info units are still accurate? Most likely the MPGs and other pieces of info displayed are no longer relevant after modifying the vehicle.
No unnecessary intro, no background music, straight to demo/installation. That's how it's done! Thank you.

This might be the BEST product installation video that I've ever seen!
I wish all products had a detailed install video like this. Just got mine and will be tackling install this weekend. It looks real nice.
Does the installation differ for a 2021 4Runner with the newer head unit??
That tape on the wrench pisses me off. Only because i never thought of that and ive dropped about a million nuts and bolts over the years. Lol great video
This installation video is an outstanding service to aid the sales of your product. Well done!
with that usb port i would do a constant power to the BATT with a button suit off so when the cars off you can still get power
Recently watched this video again and because of your great install vid and not to mention this brand, looks, affordability, design and it doesn’t block or instruments info cluster (on older models) I’m buying one today as a personal birthday present!
I like that the clock is still visible with this and the usb plugs is a sweet add on as well

That is why I’m interested in this mount. I like being able to retain the clock and still have someplace to mount my phone and other future items.
Three years on, is it still good? Worry about cracking the plastic that it mounts into because it's not meant to bear loads.
Absolutely the best installation video I’ve seen- bar none.

Thats what I was thinking I would get a piggy back for the connector so I did not have to use those vampire plugs.

Dudes done this a billion times

Install done, works great! This video made it easy.
I found this video to be quite satisfying.
One of the smartest mods you can do!
I just ordered mines 2 days ago I can't wait! Awesome install video!
That's awesome! Doesn't block the view of the clock like some other name brand I've seen.
slprciv Yea we designed it not to block the info screen.
Only if you're a midget... still impossible to see the clock from a normal driving eye height.
usenet42 The top is slanted upward from up front, we made sure the screen was visible at different height levels. 👍🏼
slprciv why not just say the name.
Who uses the clock? The time is on the screen.
i really cant believe how great this video is. SUPER helpful and thoughtful. I ordered this almost 2 weeks ago. Still not here :(

Nice and very detailed install instructions!
What are you seeing people install on top of this mostly?
Great install video. It would have been trick if you could have put the USB charger in the "I" of ICS on each side to have chargers on both ends! ;) Love your product!
Well done and great product. Thank you!
Is there any update on installation with new updated screen with CarPlay? Would have to believe the connections in the back would be different. Thanks
I love to see more helpful videos like this one.
Excellent install video.

@@ICSFAB i am having same issue and i just emailed tonight. my tap seems to be pressed very tight
How do you take out the 12v socket? Thats the last part in missing to do and I'm having a difficult time
Do you plan on installing a ham radio on it?

And, why not vocalize at the same time?
Is the voltage supply 'less' if you use draw power from the USB and Cig outlet at the same time?
The voltage will remain the same, current will change though, devices may charge slower.
If I wire this to a blue sea fuse block what size of fuse should I use 10a or 15a ?

9 mm wrenches are not included in all metric wrench sets either.
The video was good enough but why was there no audio? If I stop the video RUclips covers up the words with their progress lines.
What phone attachments work for this?
Tools list?
Are there videos of how to mount different accessories on to this rack?
Any standard AMPS attachments will bolt to the mount through the slots. We can email you an example, send us an email to support@ics-fab.com
I wish you make it for the 4th Gen 4runner
Me too
What about 4th Gen 4Runners?
You guys do installs of that product at your shop?
Trey Pelham where are you located? We can setup an appointment for you.
@@ICSFAB Missouri but I can make a roadtrip out of it. Waiting a few more months, then I'll get a 4Runner. Thanks for the reply. I was just curious.
Trey Pelham Yes we Can set you up. Let us know when you’re ready.

I could not get the USB to work
I hear someone flying a drone in background lol
Nvm i got
You must have miniature hands.
If you hit that thing during a car accident it is going to do a lot of damage to you.
And if I had wheels and tires I'd be a bicycle. Stop fretting about things that are unlikely to happen.
Same for the steering wheel. Wear your seatbelt.

Hingle McCringleberry Early generation 4Runner show more than just the clock, thanks for your input though!
ICS FAB how many of those info units are still accurate? Most likely the MPGs and other pieces of info displayed are no longer relevant after modifying the vehicle.
Hingle McCringleberry Again, thanks for your input 🤙🏼
All that just to put a little table on your dashboard
